Dating back to 1502, Starre House has now undergone the most fabulous and sympathetic transformation, revealing plenty of stunning space for both entertainment and escapism. Original timbers sail over tastefully furnished light-filled rooms, thick stone walls create deep reveals framing views across the garden, and huge fireplaces house modern wood-burners to throw out ample warmth during the cooler seasons.

Kick back with a good book or a game of pool in the fabulous drawing room. Unwind in one of two cosy snugs while the designated cook does their thing in the gorgeous kitchen. Serve up, then settle in for an evening of feasting and conversation round the big oak table in the separate dining room. French doors from both the kitchen and dining room lead outside to a pristine, private garden, where a paved terrace with outdoor furniture wraps around the manicured lawn.

Five first-class upper floor bedrooms comfortably accommodate 10 guests. Three are elegant and airy with super king beds which can be made up as twins, and one is a lovely double. The fifth is a master with a super king four poster bed, a Juliet balcony overlooking the garden, and a contemporary en-suite bathroom with decadent double shower. Two family bathrooms are also on this floor, along with a shower room downstairs.

Perfectly positioned just 400 metres from the beach, Beer’s pebble shore and clear water is within easy walking distance which means sea swims and beach walks can be savoured at any time of the day. The village itself is just a few minutes’ walk from the front door and here you’ll find a terrific pub, The Anchor Inn, Beer Village Store where you can pick up fresh produce, gift and clothing shops, and a gallery. Nearby, the lovely towns of Lyme Regis, Seaton and Sidmouth offer ample choice for dining out, as well as walking routes along the coast path, fossil finding expeditions and shopping sprees.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £500 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
