Things to Do in Braunton

Escaping a busy schedule is what a holiday in Braunton is all about. Explore a wonderful mix of country life and coastal proximity that invites visitors to relax into a slower Devonian pace.

Just a short drive away are the golden stretches of Saunton Sands, Croyde and Wollacombe. Famed for their fantastic surf conditions they’re perfect for both pros and novices alike, with board hire companies making it easy to take to the water to enjoy a day of riding the waves.

For those who prefer to stay dry, Braunton remains a firm favourite for walkers. The largest sand dune system in Britain can be found at Braunton Burrows and this is a wonderful place to discover nature. Traversing varying landscapes there are many trails to discover, and for those keen to make a day of it, the 30 mile Tarka Trail linking Braunton with Meeth, offers fantastic views of the surrounding scenery.

Braunton village is home to a number of lovely pubs as well as restaurants. Dishes are derived from locally sourced, fresh produce and a real treat when you fancy a meal out. The village also has a selection of shops and galleries, offering plenty to do on those days when a little retail therapy and indulgence is required.
