Things to do in Swanpool

Swanpool holidays are special indeed, with calm waters at both the lagoon and beach seeing visitors enjoying kayaking, paddle-boarding, sailing and swimming. Just over the sandbar that separates the beach from the lagoon, is the sheltered family-friendly crescent of sand and shingle with a great beach café selling nibbles and ice-creams. The kayak and board hire shop along with the beach’s safe swimming conditions offer plenty to do on those bucket and spade days where relaxing in the sunshine is a must, and just a short 10 minute stroll away along the South West Coast path is the small yet popular Gyllyngvase Beach.

Swanpool is also home to a nature reserve at Swanvale where many smaller bird varieties take shelter, and ducks and swans roam freely. A walk around the reserve offers visitors a peaceful respite amongst the mosses and ferns that thrive in the humid atmosphere of this wet woodland.

Nearby, the town of Falmouth offers a great variety of shops and restaurants, and includes many historical sites as well as the Falmouth Golf Club.

  • Can dogs go on Swanpool Beach?

    Yes, except in high season between 1st July and 31st August when dogs may not go on the beach between the hours of 10am and 6pm.

     

  • Is there a car park at Swanpool Beach?

    The car park is open daily, rarely full, and operates on a pay-and-display basis from 1st March to end of February. Payments can be made by cash or via the Just Park app. No overnight parking for caravans, campervans, motorhomes, or camping allowed.

    Parking rates:
    – Up to 1 hour: £1.40
    – 1-2 hours: £2.70
    – 2-3 hours: £4.00
    – 3-4 hours: £5.30
    – 4-8 hours: £8.00
    – Evening session (5pm-9am): £1.50.
