Glamping in rural Somerset

With just five contemporary dwellings on site (each with its own hot tub and outdoor space), this small collection of luxury glamping pods has been designed to make guests feel completely at home.

Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting with tasteful colour schemes and modern furnishings. Kitchenettes with combi microwaves and fridges means guests will be able to stock up on fresh ingredients and cook their own meals to be enjoyed either inside or out, and there’s a living area with sofa and Smart TV for sharing movie nights together.

Outside, you can enjoy a fresh-air soak in the jacuzzi at any time of the day or night, with firepits doubling as BBQ’s for either alfresco cookery or ambient evenings. Just a 10 minute walk away, the Pheasant Pub (a favourite in the area) is a terrific place to while an afternoon or two away with good food and drink, or for those who don’t mind a short drive, The Ring O’Bells and The Burcott are also close by.

Fittingly named after apple varieties including Honeycrisp, Bramley, Windsor, Morgan Sweet and Kingston Black – a nod to the apple trees which can be seen dotted around the farm, you’ll feel constantly in touch with nature, and as the Lower River Axe meanders past, the setting is one conducive to blissful relaxation. For guests who like fresh eggs for breakfast, the farm’s resident hens are happy to oblige, and pigs Polly and Sally (who may be producing piglets sometime in the future) can be seen napping or guzzling in their pens.

Other local nature-infused attractions such as the impressive Wookey Hole Caves (about 8 minutes’ drive), Cheddar Gorge, and Kilver Court and Gardens (both about 20 minutes) mean those who love the outdoors have lots to keep them busy, while Wells with its cathedral, shopping, restaurants and heritage sites, is the perfect day out.

Burnham-on-Sea lies within 30 minutes’ drive too, so if you fancy a dip in the ocean or fish and chips on the esplanade, you won’t need to travel far for a traditional seaside resort atmosphere.

Parking on site is a dream with an allocated and signed space for each pod, and an EV charging point which services the site is a real plus for those with electric vehicles as they won’t need to seek any out in the area.
