Things To Do In Wadebridge

A holiday in Wadebridge offers a quieter lifestyle which though well-connected to the area, manages to avoid the crowds of some of its nearby counterparts. The town’s streets are lined with a terrific selection of independent shops including bakeries and boutiques, and some of the area’s best surfing beaches are within a 30-minute drive.
Wadebridge is especially good for families with plenty of outdoor activities on offer.

The Camel Trail
The Camel Trail in Cornwall is a picturesque 18-mile route that follows a disused railway line along the scenic River Camel, stretching from Padstow to Bodmin Moor. This trail offers stunning views of the river estuary, lush woodlands, and rolling countryside, making it a really lovely experience for visitors of all ages. The trail is brilliant for both walking and cycling, and along the way, there are several cafes and picnic spots to rest and enjoy the views.

Padstow
While away a few hours in the pretty fishing port of Padstow taking in the views of bobbing boats in the harbour. Peruse trendy shops or dine at one of Rick Stein’s fabulous eateries.

Haywood Farm Cider
Just a 12-minute drive from Wadebridge town centre, Haywood Farm Cider is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Cornish cider. With its combination of traditional cider making, beautiful orchards, and welcoming atmosphere, it provides a unique and enjoyable experience for all ages. Whether you’re a cider enthusiast or just looking for a pleasant day out, Haywood Farm Cider offers something special.

Camel Creek Adventure Park
This all-weather attraction is the perfect place for families looking to keep younger members entertained with indoor play areas, and rides like Pirate’s Galleon and Dinosaur Quarry. Teens and adults can get in on the fun too with a turn on the thrill ride The Beast. There are farm animals to pet, live shows and of course a gift shop too.

Camel Valley Vineyard
Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, this is a terrific place to visit for wine enthusiasts and holidaymakers alike. Well-known for its award-winning sparkling wines, this family-run vineyard offers a really lovely day out with guided tours that reveal the art of winemaking, from vine to bottle. Wonderful views of the rolling vineyards form the backdrop as you sample a selection of fine wines, and relax on the sunny terrace overlooking the River Camel.

Polzeath Beach
A wonderful golden sandy beach and one of the best in the area. Perfect for family days out, it’s also a great surfers beach with consistently good waves so surfers of all ages and abilities can take to the water.

Daymer Bay
This sheltered bay is a popular spot for family beach days, especially when the weather is calm, but when the wind picks up it’s a fantastic place for wind surfers and other water sports enthusiasts looking for an adrenalin buzz.

Rock Beach
A long stretch of golden sands which rests on the eastern shore of the Camel Estuary, this is a fantastic spot for surfing as well as wind and kite surfing when conditions are right. With so much space on offer, the beach never feels crowded which is excellent news during the peak school holidays.

Harlyn Bay
Harlyn is one of Cornwall’s best and most popular beaches, yet unlike many of its counterparts it welcomes dogs all year round, which is great news for those in search of paws-friendly holidays. Excellent for surfing, especially during the spring and autumn when it remains sheltered from the prevailing winds, it’s also perfect for swimming, bodyboarding, kayaking and paddleboarding.
