At the heart of Luxury Coastal is a band of brilliant people whose collective passion for service make us tick. So, to help you get to know us better, we’re kicking off 2024 with an introduction to more of our lovely LC crew. And here they are…

Emma Barnett – Customer Experience Team Leader

Just the right mix of professionalism and friendliness makes the lovely Emma a fab example of how to work hard and yet still have fun. We adore her not just for the support and expertise she offers but also for her caring personality – and along with her cooking and crafting skills, she makes the Luxury Coastal office feel even more like a home than a place of work.

What do you love most about working at LC?
The people, no matter how you are feeling when you arrive at work in the morning, someone in the team is bound to make you laugh or put a smile on your face. The support that is given, not only within the job role itself but organising team workshops to help us all with our personal growth outside of Luxury Coastal.

What 3 words do you think describe working within Team LC?
Honest, supportive, rib-tickling

What makes you smile?
My friends, family and the sea

Traditional fisherman’s cottage or contemporary beach house?
Can I have a glass-front fisherman’s cottage on the beach, please? With a log burner!

If you could spend a day anywhere in Devon or Cornwall, where would you choose and why?
Is it cheating to say out at sea? Anywhere on a boat with access to good food and wine. But if I had to pick somewhere on land I think it would have to be Salcombe, it’s a hub of activity in the summer, with great shops, pubs and eateries to choose from and white sand beaches nearby. There is also a lovely scenic walk around to Hope Cove and then onto Bantham Beach which it perfect for a winter hike.

Where’s your favourite local place to have brekkies, brunch or a coffee?
Either Alfresco in Dartmouth for a Full English or Sea Spray in Fistral for Bacon & Blueberry Pancakes

And finally…and most importantly…. Cream or jam first?
I’m not Cornish but they get their scone right! Jam first, everything about it is just better!

Laura Moss – Director

With years of marketing experience under her belt and a genuine passion for supporting local businesses and communities in the South West, Laura is a champion not only for the LC brand but also for women in business. Her support, understanding, kindness, and knowledge make her a true friend and a valued member of the Luxury Coastal family – quite frankly we’re lucky to have her.

What do you love most about working at LC?
Working with a team who always strive to be the best they can be has made this an exciting journey.

What 3 words do you think describe working within Team LC?
Supportive. Fun. Connection.

What makes you smile?
I love good food so eating out at local places who use beautiful produce to create delicious dishes is one of my favourite things. I also love being outdoors, surrounded by nature.

Traditional fisherman’s cottage or contemporary beach house?
A fisherman’s cottage for me – it’s the perfect place for summery stays as well as cosy winter breaks.

If you could spend a day anywhere in Devon or Cornwall, where would you choose and why?
Hmmm, that’s a tough one. There are just so many. I think my top three would have to be Watermouth Cove for its unspoiled scenery, and Mortehoe for its incredible sea views and charm (both in North Devon). Dartmoor is where I love to go for that feeling of being away from it all.

Where’s your favourite local place to have brekkies, brunch or a coffee?
Alder Vineyard is one of my favourite breakfast spots – I always go for their Stacked Devon Breakfast, and usually end up leaving with a bottle of their delicious wine. The Journeys End Inn in Ringmore is a traditional pub serving delicious pub food. They have an old piano and a snug games room which adds to the atmosphere. I love stopping at The Beach House in South Milton Sands for a coffee as its right on the beach with an amazing view. I also love the Exploding Bakery Café in Exeter as their cakes are the best.

And finally…and most importantly…. Cream or jam first?
The Devon way…cream!

Iain Geoghegan – Owner Partnerships Expert

Having worked in the travel industry for several years, Iain brings a wealth of experience to Luxury Coastal as a support to our property owners. Always on-hand for any questions or concerns owners might have, he is also super helpful, offering solutions and a listening ear. Outside of the office, Iain is a football fanatic so when he’s not at work you’ll find him either watching local football matches or passionately cheering on his favourite team, Arsenal.

What do you love most about working at LC?
The best thing about Luxury Coastal is the people – the team and our owners.

What 3 words do you think describe working within Team LC?
Supportive. Encouraging. Fun.

What makes you smile?
That feeling of accomplishment when you push yourself further than you thought you could go.

Traditional fisherman’s cottage or contemporary beach house?
Definitely a contemporary beach house.

If you could spend a day anywhere in Devon or Cornwall, where would you choose and why?
I’d choose Carbis Bay. It’s one of those places where photographs don’t actually do it justice. The sea is bluer than blue, and the scenery is like something out of a Bond movie.

Where’s your favourite local place to have brekkies, brunch or a coffee?
Cote Brasserie in Exeter – their poached eggs and avo on toast is my treat breakfast.

And finally…and most importantly…. Cream or jam first?
Cream of course.

Emily Wareham – Customer Experience Expert

Emily’s bubbly and infectious personality adds a delightful positivity to our team, AND she brew an excellent cuppa (by her own admission too). Despite being the newest member in our Customer Experience team, she’s fitted in from day one and her rapport with guests and owners adds an extra layer of warmth to our customer interactions. Oh and did we mention that she’s also competed in both British and International swimming championships!

What do you love most about working at LC?
It’s a recurring theme, but the people and support. Our office chit chat is right up there too.

What 3 words do you think describe working within Team LC?
Bubbly. Happy. Chatty.

What makes you smile?
Being outside and being with the people I love.

Traditional fisherman’s cottage or contemporary beach house?
Beach house please. I just think of space, views, sun and sand which is my idea of the perfect getaway.

If you could spend a day anywhere in Devon or Cornwall, where would you choose and why?
Watergate Bay. It’s one of the best beaches in Cornwall, and there are some amazing places to eat as well like Wax who do the best burgers.

Where’s your favourite local place to have brekkies, brunch or a coffee?
Puerto Lounge on the quay in Exeter. When the sun’s shining and you’re with friends, the vibe is hard to beat. Smugglers in Dawlish is great for a roast and has sea views as well as overlooking a field with grazing sheep.

And finally…and most importantly…. Cream or jam first?
Cream of course.
