From the very beginning, supporting the communities in which we live and operate has been intrinsic to what we do here at Luxury Coastal. We believe that communities thrive with the right support which is why we are incredibly proud to help Rowcroft Hospice through our charitable donation commitment.

As an independent charity, Rowcroft Hospice provides expert care and support to local people with life-limiting illnesses, many of whom are facing the hardest times imaginable. Each year they support over 2,500 patients and their loved ones, with 80% of people cared for in their own homes across South Devon, from Dartmouth to Dawlish and up onto Dartmoor. They deliver their services free of charge to adults, helping to make every day the best day possible and enabling families to share precious moments together – whether that’s a wonderful reunion, a loving heart-to-heart or a gentle cuddle.

Their dedicated teams comprise a diverse range of healthcare professionals delivering care that is tailored to each patient’s needs and choices. Working towards the single goal of offering patients and their loved ones the very best level of care, they support patients to remain comfortable despite their symptoms, to maintain independence and mobility, and to achieve the best possible quality of life.

With the patient’s wishes at the heart of the care, the teams deliver a holistic approach through a range of services including specialist nursing and medical support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, complementary therapy, listening and bereavement support, spiritual care and music therapy.

Day and night, Rowcroft’s award-winning Hospice at Home Team provides vital nursing care to patients at home in their last two weeks of life. The service also provides 24/7 advice and support for loved ones, and enables family carers to take much-needed breaks.

For patients whose complex needs cannot be met at home, the team provide care, support and specialist services in their 12-bedded Inpatient Unit in Torquay. Along with high quality health and social care, they also offer delicious homecooked meals and access to the beautiful gardens. The welcoming and homely environment helps patients and families to make the most of precious time together.

Rowcroft Hospice would be unable to provide essential end-of-life services without the generous support of the local community who fund the majority of the care.

As our team’s chosen charity, we have donated £1,500 to Rowcroft Hospice this year. This donation means that another family will be supported at a really difficult time.
