With over 300 beaches to explore, Cornwall is a dream for beachcombers. The constant ebb and flow of the Atlantic Ocean means washed-up treasure abounds, including beautiful pieces of driftwood which can be used for creative projects like art and home décor.

Besides the thrill of finding driftwood, being on the beach and close to the ocean also means you get to connect with nature and appreciate its beauty – so even if your search doesn’t result in a massive hoard, you’ll likely feel relaxed and refreshed after your expedition.

Here we’ve listed some of our favourite spots in Cornwall for finding driftwood – Happy hunting!

Lantic Bay

This wild and secluded beach is on the south coast near Fowey, recognizable for its crescent-shaped sandy cove, azure water and steep cliffs. Being fairly isolated as well as exposed to the elements means it’s an excellent spot for finding driftwood, especially after storms. Access is down a steep path so may not be suitable for those with young children or limited mobility.
