We want you to have a fantastic time here and that means doing as little or as much as you fancy, so we’ve curated an itinerary for your 48 hours in Brixham which you can either follow to the letter or pick from to suit your idea of the ideal short break.
Morning
Breakfast at The Curious Kitchen
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at The Curious Kitchen on Middle Street. Dishes include the Avocado Benny, Breakfast Burrito Wrap, Cowboy Eggs and Vanilla Cinnamon French Toast
Harbour Stroll & Shopping
After breakfast, take a leisurely walk down Middle Street towards the harbour. Explore the eclectic shops along the way, including clothing boutiques, shell and gift shops, and the quirky Brixham Steam Packet Company on Fore Street. If you’re up for it, walk to the end of Brixham’s Breakwater for stunning views over the marina and bay.
Afternoon
Lunch at Rockfish
Enjoy a seafood lunch with a view at Rockfish, overlooking the harbour. If you prefer a casual meal, grab a cod and chips takeaway from Simply Fish and find a bench by the water.
Sea Safari or Ferry to Torquay
For some adventure, take a 1-hour Sea Safari with Boatsafari to explore the coastline and spot marine life. Alternatively, hop on the Western Lady Ferry for a scenic ride to Torquay for an afternoon of sightseeing.
(If it’s offseason) Opt for a bus ride to Kingswear and ferry over to Dartmouth, exploring the charming shops and savouring fresh crab sandwiches from The Crab Shell.
Evening
Wine Tasting at The Wine Loft
Unwind with a glass of wine at The Wine Loft, overlooking the harbour. The knowledgeable owners can recommend the perfect bottle to take home if you plan to dine in.
Dinner at La Petite Maison
Treat yourself to an exquisite French dinner at La Petite Maison. Indulge in classic dishes like Coq au vin or Moules Frites in a cosy, joie de vivre atmosphere.

Walk to Berry Head
Start your day with a refreshing walk to Berry Head. Visit the Guardhouse Café for tea and scones while soaking in the panoramic views of the coastline.
Afternoon
Lunch at Churston Cove
Take a scenic 1 mile walk from Brixham Harbour along The South West Coast Path to Fishcombe Cove then Churston Cove. Before you go, stock up on snacks from West Country Deli for a picnic lunch at this secluded, picturesque beach. The water here is clear and calm – ideal for a sea swim if you’re in the mood for it.
Explore St Mary’s Bay & Sharkham Point
If you’re up for more walking, continue along the South West Coast Path to St Mary’s Bay and Sharkham Point for more fabulous coastal views.
Evening
Sundowners at The View Brasserie & Terrace
Head to The Berry Head Hotel for a relaxing evening drink on The View Brasserie & Terrace. There are wonderful views across the bay which can be enjoyed either outside when the sun is shining, or inside if it’s wet.
Dinner in Town
For your final evening, dine at one of Brixham’s local favourite spots. You could revisit La Petite Maison, try Rockfish for more seafood, or enjoy a casual meal at Albero, The Prince William or Simply Fish. If you’re in the mood for takeaway, grab fish and chips from David’s on Bolton Street.
