Day 1: Exploring Brixham

Breakfast at Esca

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Esca on Middle Street. Dishes include the Esca Full, The Breakfast Toastie Melt, and homemade Bubble & Squeak.

Harbour Stroll & Shopping

Wander down Middle Street towards the harbour and marina, browsing a host a fantastic shops along the way. There’s Brixham Maid for foodie things – we love their homemade hot honey, jams and Sharpham cheeses, lifestyle and gift shops like Flotsam 50, Sandy Toes and Bertie & Crew. Walk right to the end of Brixham’s Breakwater for stunning views over the marina and bay.

Harbourside dining at Rockfish

Enjoy a seafood supper with a view, at Rockfish overlooking the harbour. All fish is sustainably caught right off the coast of Devon so it doesn’t get fresher. Allternatively grab a cod and chips takeaway from Simply Fish and find a bench by the water from which to enjoy it!

Day 2: Coast Path Wanderings

Lunch at Churston Cove

Pop into The Middle Street Bagel Co. for a delicious takeaway before enjoying the 1 mile walk to Churston Cove along The South West Coast Path, passing Fishcombe Cove along the way. Enjoy a picnic lunch on its secluded and picturesque beach. The water here is clear and calm – ideal for a sea swim if you’re in the mood for it.

Sundowners at Breakwater Beach

Head down to Breakwater Beach for a relaxing evening drink on the beach wall. The Breakwater Bistro has a takeaway kiosk for drinks and food. This is the best place to watch the sun set over Tor Bay, with wide views over the sea.

Sea Safari or Ferry to Torquay

Experience a one-hour Sea Safari with Boatsafari to explore the coastline and spot marine life. Alternatively, hop on the Western Lady Ferry for a scenic trip over to Torquay harbour for an afternoon of sightseeing.

Visit Dartmouth

Take the number 18 bus from Brixham main car park to Kingswear. The bus stops at The Banjo in Kingswear, which is close to the ferry over to Dartmouth. When you’re back in Brixham tuck into a fresh crab sandwich from Claws seafood kiosk on the harbour.

Visit Berry Head Nature Reserve

A five-minute drive from Brixham Harbour, Berry Head Nature Reserve is a wonderful place for dog walks, fresh air, and far-reaching views over Torbay and the coastline. If you fancy a cream tea, Guardhouse Café on Berry Head is fabulous.

Wine Tasting at The Wine Loft

Unwind with a glass of wine at The Wine Loft, overlooking the harbour. The knowledgeable owners can recommend the perfect bottle to take home if you plan to dine in.

Restaurants Galore

Treat yourself to an exquisite French dinner at La Petite Maison. Indulge in classic dishes like Coq au vin or Moules Frites in a cosy, joie de vivre atmosphere. Some other favourites include Albero, The Prince William and Beamers.
