Where to catch the surf

Carbis Bay Beach is one of Cornwall’s premier beaches and is perfect for those who love soft white sand and crystal clear water.  Ocean Sports Centre offers everything visitors would need for enjoying sand and surf, from deck chairs and wind breaks for those who prefer to keep their toes dry, to lessons, SUP safaris, eco tours or splash and dash equipment hire with kayaks and stand-up paddle boards available for those longing to take to the water.

Just thirty minutes on foot, the South West Coast Path meanders the 1.2 miles from Carbis Bay to St Ives, providing spectacular views over St Ives Bay. Or it’s a three scenic minute train journey to this iconic seaside town where a rich art culture, fabulous foodie scene and photogenic harbour await. Two more premier surfing beaches can be found in St Ives which are Porthminster and Porthmeor – both with stunning views and excellent water conditions.
