What makes Newquay so special?

It’s a question that most of us know the answer to, and if you’ve already fallen in love with this iconic slice of Cornwall you’ll know that it’s the combination of laid-back beach-infused days, beautiful scenery, vibrant atmosphere and a buzzing restaurant scene.

The beauty of holidays in Newquay is that they can be anything you want them to be. Summer breaks with all the family, surfing sojourns with just your board and your dog, or romantic getaways just for the two of you.

Family apartments in Newquay

With so many activities geared towards children, Newquay is a great spot for family holidays. Top attractions like the aquarium and zoo mean that they have many other ways to burn of their energy and get the synapses firing even when it’s not beach weather.

Of course, when it is beach weather they’ll be exploring rockpools, splashing in the shallows and building a sandy mermaid’s tail over their sleeping dads. Our family-friendly apartments have room for all, and most are located within a short walk or drive of Newquay’s sandy stretches and kid-friendly days out.

Many of these properties also have more than one bathroom as well as flat screen TV’s and games consoles, so when the adults feel like taking it easy at home, the children will have lots to keep them busy.

Set on the North coast of Cornwall, Newquay faces the Atlantic Ocean which explains its rolling surf and reliably big waves; conditions that have beckoned surfers from all over the world. Of course, like many of its global surfing capital counterparts the sport has permeated its culture, with a laid-back surfer vibe lacing many of its independent shops and its restaurant scene.

If you’re a fan of the sport who likes your Newquay apartment to be within walking distance of your favourite surfing beaches, we have plenty for you to choose from. Our Fistral Beach and Ocean Gate apartments are a 5-minute stroll from the sand along the coast path, so you can catch the first wave of the day while everyone else is still tucked up in bed. If you don’t mind a 10-minute walk, our Vista apartments lie on Pentire Road and boast some spectacular views over the headland and sea, so you’ll be able to check the sea conditions from the comfort of your living room before suiting up.

Most of our Newquay apartments have their own surfboard storage and outdoor showers, so you’ll be able to de-sand your boards, wetsuits and feet before heading up to your pad for lunch on the balcony.

Beach apartments in Newquay

Now believe it or not, Newquay is certainly not only for the surfing community. Those of you who enjoy a ramble you’ll know that this section of the South West Coast Path offers many terrific walks, all with some pretty incredible scenery.

The 3.1 mile route along the Gannel Estuary is a wonderful place to explore, where wading birds forage for their dinner in the mud and Oystercatchers stroll along the shoreline so if you’re looking to indulge in a nature-infused holiday, this will do the trick. Wish You Were Here is a pet-friendly holiday home near Crantock Beach and if you drive the car down to the car park you’ll be able to walk the coast path to the estuary.
