Perched right on the water’s edge in the village of Cawsand, this stunning holiday home couldn’t be closer to the sea.

Dating back to the 16th Century, 3 The Old School House was originally a ‘pilchard palace’, one of a handful of buildings constructed right on the shore during the era’s huge pilchard trade, when the prized fish were caught, salted and packed ready for shipping. Later in the 17th Century the property was converted into a school and was used as such right the way through to the mid 20th Century, except for a time during the World Wars when it was used by the Navy. Now restored into a beautiful home, the property’s waterfront position provides staggering ocean views from its many sea-facing windows, affording guests a unique perspective over the ever-changing waters surrounding the Rame Peninsula.

If the views from this property weren’t special enough, 3 The Old School House’s has an interior that could easily grace the pages of a swish destination-style magazine. Sleeping six guests over three bedrooms the first-floor super-king size master suite has en suite and private balcony, in the family bathroom there’s a handmade copper bateau bath for relaxing in after a day of beach-combing. Sink-in sofas, original artwork and reclaimed antique furniture give the space a relaxed luxe with clever lighting creating the perfect ambience to evenings spent winding down. Enjoy a morning coffee while taking in the views from a cushioned window seat, or plan the day’s adventures together in the beautiful open-plan kitchen before heading out for a swim at one of the pretty beaches in the surrounding area.

Situated right on the coastal path, an evening walk is virtually on the doorstep, or for a day out guests can explore the tiny unspoiled towns and villages that dot the landscape of this beautiful part of the Cornish coast.

One small-medium size dog is welcome in the property.

Security Deposit
We ask our guests for a £100 security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

Cawsand can be found tucked away on the mostly undiscovered Rame Peninsula – a lesser known jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A beautiful landscape of countryside, tidal creeks and sandy beaches surround the small, unspoiled village where quaint streets and a beautiful bay create an idyllic holiday destination.
