Overview

Inside is cosy and cool with serpentine lines creating a contemporary burrow; the walls and ceilings blending into each other in one seamlessly curvy space. Exposed brick work, timber panelling and plush furnishings lend a rustic yet superbly stylish quality to the interior where chunky knits and waffle linens make for an inviting sanctuary that’s just right for cosying up or winding down in.

The living area features a sofa (which converts to a bed) with plush scatter cushions to snuggle into, and is open plan with a fully equipped modern kitchen complete with breakfast bar. Together with five leather topped barstools, it provides the ideal spot to enjoy a coffee or breakfast, or to catch up on the day’s plans before heading outdoors for a morning of adventure.

Behind three off-beat doorways lie the cosiest of bedrooms with the master featuring a king size bed and its own little circular window on brass hinges allowing guests to take a private peek at the outside world. The second bedroom is light-filled and comfy with French doors opening out to let the fresh countryside air in. A third bedroom room creates an enchanting hidey hole for children to discover, with sturdy bunk beds offering a magical place to escape to for an afternoon nap or a read.

There’s more whimsy on offer outside in the form of a private wood fired hot tub, a delightful camping shed with indoor barbecue for toasting marshmallows or grilling hot dogs, and shared playhouse for oodles of carefree fun. Pack a picnic and venture into the sprawling Somerset countryside.

Set within easy reach of a host of trails and countryside walks, this home is also within easy reach of the architecturally beautiful city of Wells meaning plenty to see and do whilst visiting, and for those who fancy something a little closer to home there are fantastic amenities on site that include treatment rooms, a gym and a café bistro.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £125 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £25 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle. Network signal is likely to be poor inside as the property is located in the ground but there is network signal outside the property

Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.
Property surroundings: partially enclosed garden,the farm does have its own livestock so guests are urged to only bring their dogs if they are of a friendly nature.
Additional Extras: There is a £30 wood package available for the hot tub; this includes the hot tub being lit prior to arrival and a supply of wood provided for your stay and this is paid in cash upon arrival but must be requested prior to arrival. There is a charcoal bbq for guests, however, you will need to provide your own charcoal.

A circular doorway with lantern lighting and a wooden front door invites guests into the living room which is open plan with the kitchen and dining area. Furnished with a sofa bed which converts to a small double as well as an array of scatter cushions with a small coffee table and floor rug

The contemporary kitchen is open plan with the lounge. It features a breakfast bar, sturdy work surfaces and plenty of storage with range of large and small appliances including a fan assisted oven and grill, induction hob, under counter fridge, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, microwave, vacuum cleaner and wine cooler

Incorporated within the kitchen, the area features a large breakfast bar with five leather barstools

The room is furnished with a king size bed, an open chest of drawers and a small flat screen Smart TV. Wooden French doors are set within the large circular opening letting in plenty of natural daylight

Bedroom Two
This lovely room is furnished with a king size bed and features a built in unit for storage and hanging space. There are two bedside tables and reading lamps as well as a feature porthole window and small flat screen Smart TV

Bedroom Three
Children's room. This room has a small single upper bed that is suitable for children of 8 years and under. The lower bunk bed is a standard single size. Both beds are sturdy timber frames with the top bunk being accessed up a chunky ladder with sturdy grab handle

The family bathroom features a fantastic walk-in shower with glass shower screen as well as two hand basins with mixer taps, two cabinets, a heated towel rail and WC

A partially enclosed private area features a suntrap patio with a wood fired hot tub*. This area also includes a timber building that houses an indoor barbecue. A large extractor keeping the room smoke free and bench seating makes a great perch for evenings spent huddled together around the fire, toasting marshmallows or grilling something yummy for dinner
On site is a communal play area that includes a mini underground house with underground burrow, as well as a cafe / bistro, Freckles & Boo farm shop, a brewery and a picnic area

Peace and quiet

We had a lovely long weekend at the Wabbit. Adelle was the most lovely and welcoming host and made sure we had everything we needed. The house itself was beautiful, the grounds were wonderful and the little playground was a fun bonus. We also ate breakfast at the on site cafe which was great. It was the perfect break to disconnect from the world and have some relaxed family time- all whilst pretending to be hobbits!!

A great place to geatway

A great place to get away for a few days. Done up to a vary high standard inside, very modern. The hot tub and indoor BBQ an added bonus. A very accommodating host, good communication about check in and checking out. I would also recommend the cafe on site and the horse and saddle pub for good food and great service.

Perfect little getaway

This was a perfect little getaway, it was quiet, peaceful and a great view, Very clear and comfortable and the owner was very helpful if you needed anything. Absolutely brilliant. You felt like you had really stepped into the shire. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful escape. 5 stars. Cant wait to go back.

Unique and cosy

A really unusual place to stay. Despite it being very cold outside the underfloor heating made it very cosy. Adelle was very quick to help when there was a slight issue on arrival and communicated really well. The hot tub was really easy to use and worth the extra money. Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous stay in The Little Shire!

My family and I booked Wabbit at The Little Shire as a present for my mum's birthday. We are all big Lord of the Rings fans and had been looking for somewhere with excellent Hobbit vibes to spend the weekend. The instructions from Adelle beforehand were great and we found the place with no problems. The place itself is gorgeous and was completely spotless, we loved that there were some seasonal decorations around the place too. We made full use of the excellent log fired hot tub and the BBQ hut and really enjoyed the outside space. Inside we loved everything and it had everything we needed. Adelle was quick to respond to any questions we had and our dog loved it so much she didnt want to leave! The cafe on site was great for breakfast and the dog really liked the pet supplies store too! We would love to come stay again and probably will!

Great relaxing trip!

Great location, close to Glastonbury & Bath. We had a lovely stay here, in this lovely dog friendly property. Our dog loved running all over the house! The wood fired hot tub and the BBQ room were great additions and made the stay even better. Adelle's communication was great, and we had no problems during our stay. I'd not hesitate to stay again!

Nothing was too much trouble

Such a beautiful private setting in the countryside!.. nothing was too much trouble! 45 minutes to the beach and cheddar gorge 20 minutes down the road.. perfect relaxing holiday. The hot tub was pre lit and warm when we arrived and there was lots of little essentials wed forgotten like sugar, bags etc! Great stay! Thankyou so much, the kids loved it!

A unique experience

My partner & I stayed for 2 nights, the accommodation was quirky but totally functional. It included bath robes & towels. The outside was beautiful overlooking sheep in a paddock. Very quiet & secluded, clean and comfortable. My only slight complaint was the sofa which gave us numb bums after an hour of sitting on it, but apart from that it was everything we wanted & more.
