I’m not a fan of eating out when I’m on holiday…said no-one ever.

Settling on the beautiful North Devon coast is one of the UK’s best surfing and beachy getaways destinations – Woolacombe. A place where the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the scenery simply gorgeous.

Holidays here are magical, and we know that your Woolacombe luxury coastal home has a wonderfully equipped kitchen which of course, you’ll be using to rustle up those family feasts in. But if you DO fancy eating out here’s the low down…this little town positively brims with dining out options for you to choose from whether it be for post-beach refuelling or a smart soiree after the sun has already set. Here are a few of our favourites.

Fast and fabulous

Woolacombe Bay Pizza Co. has been crafting the crispiest pizzas since 2007 so if you’re up for a take-away during your stay, this is the spot. Choose from options like Monterey Hog and Seafood Sensation or the timeless classics of Margherita, Meat Feast, and Hawaiian, there’s a topping here to satisfy every craving, and they deliver either to your holiday home or you can opt to collect from their store.

Meraki Coffee Co. set on South Street, is a hidden treasure. Prepare to be tempted by a delicious selection of hot and cold drinks like an indulgent hazelnut latte adorned with cream and hazelnut flakes, or the crowd-pleasing classic chocolate orange. Their selection of cakes and sweet treats are equally as splendid – the perfect way to fuel up before hitting the surf.

Sweet or spicy

Barricane Beach Café, housed in a repurposed shipping container, welcomes guests daily from around 10 am (weather permitting). In addition to the usual fare of drinks, cakes, snacks, ice creams, and baguettes, the café is famed for its curry nights, running from approximately 4.45 until 7 pm. Tuck into their nigh-on famous Pork and Pineapple Sri Lankan curry while soaking in the sea views.

The Jube, a charming family-owned pub tucked away in the heart of Woolacombe, is all about a relaxed, family-friendly vibe, and the menu sees both traditional and contemporary pub favourites gracing its pages as well as a host of gorgeous cocktails.

Town Farmhouse in Mortehoe serves up delectable cream teas featuring freshly baked golden scones, accompanied by sticky jam and clotted cream. Organic and free-range ingredients are used and they also cater to vegan and vegetarian palates with their range of yummy dishes.

Chic or casual

One of Woolacombe’s finest dining options, the family-owned and run Beach House Restaurant, sees head chef Scott showcases the finest local produce with his beautifully crafted dishes. Dine al fresco on the terrace and soak in the stunning bay views while savouring your beautifully plated, artfully created meal.

The casual Beachcomber Café boasts a fantastic setting right at the end of the bustling Esplanade, overlooking the beach. With a menu offering brunch, lunch, and a plethora of vegan/vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as a warm welcome for well-behaved dogs, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with a view.
