A break at The Secret Roundhouse is all about embracing a slower pace of life surrounded by beautiful Cornish Countryside. Your exclusive wooden roundhouse is tucked away in a quiet corner of the site, making this the perfect retreat for two.

Step inside to find a unique industrial style with sumptuous accessories, creating a welcoming space to relax and unwind. You can even gaze up at the stars through the quirky porthole in the roof. Little hints of luxury are scattered throughout your bijou home from home, from the en suite bathroom to the tempting handmade king size bed, underfloor heating and flickering wood burning stove for cosy nights in.

There’s something special about dining al fresco and the outdoor kitchen cabin make rustling up your meals an event in itself. As the sun goes down, you can toast marsh mallows on the warming fire bowl before sinking into your wood-fired hot tub with a glass of fizz.

East Thorne is a peaceful glamping site just a short drive from the north Cornwall coast. You can spend your days relaxing on sandy beaches, enjoying fish and chips or joining one of the surf schools for a day in the waves.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £50 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.

East Thorne offers a host of amazing on-site and shared facilities to complete your glamping experience too:

Tallet Barn: A covered seating area with two large tables seating 12 at each. Hanging heaters, chimineas and a large wood burner keep you warm and dry. A great space for larger groups to gather together. Available on a first come first served basis

Clay pizza oven: Create and cook your own delicious wood-fired pizzas. Simply let the site know ahead of time that you’d like to use the oven during your stay

Fire pit: A huge fire pit in the middle of the site with rustic seating. Perfect for toasting marshmallows, enjoying a sing-along and getting to know people

Animal feeding: Guests will love the paddock on site which has American Pygmy goats, chickens, geese, a very large pig and an assortment of different birds in an aviary. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays the site offers animal feeding which is a great activity for younger members of the family

The Hive: Fresh and frothy coffee, hot chocolates and teas served from a converted horsebox every morning except Mondays and Fridays (April to October). On weekends you can also nab fresh, locally baked pastries like croissants, pain au chocolat, and cinnamon swirls

Great stay, a few slight improvements would make it even better

Really enjoyed our stay here, loved the accommodation, kitchen area and garden. Only slight negatives were: Parking is a bit of a free-for-all (doesnt seem like theres enough). We couldnt get the hot tub to temperature on the second night despite having the fire going for over 2 hours and having to top it up in the rain every 15 minutes which is a faff. The ceiling window has no blind, so the accommodation gets light as soon as the sun rises. Not the worst thing when sunrise is 7am, but it wouldnt be enjoyable in the summer at 5am

Would be great if, you had a Walkway into the Local Village, as you need to drive everywhere to get your local produce. Other than that would recommend to anyone, lovely people we were made to feel very welcome.

Secret Roundhouse experience

Fantastic secluded roundhouse and hot tub !clean and tidy ,couldn't have been better. Hosts were friendly and nothing was to much trouble ,they leven et us in a few hours early and the hot tub was ready and stoked up . They kept us fully loaded with ample firewood at no extra cost . All in all even though our weather was wet in Feb we chilled in the hot tub and still cooked outside in the seperate kitchen and had a cosy meal by the firepit ,our stay was fantastic and would definitely return. Highly recommended .

Relaxing break at the Roundhouse

Booked a romantic long weekend break at the Roundhouse. Staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Roundhouse was self contained and peaceful. Hot tub fed from outside wood burner. little kitchen was well stocked for two people including air fryer. There was also a fire pit and bbq outside.Great location near Bude for beaches and coastal walks.

The property was lovely including all the outside space. Owners were super friendly and always willing to help out with any queries. The little touches didnt go unnoticed such as the hot chocolate velvetiser and the lovely local recommendations in the guide book.

Slightly Disappointed

The Roundhouse itself was very nice inside, but outdoor kitchen was quite tatty compared to photos with regards to stains, conditions of pallet wood etc. Timer on garden lights need adjusting to stay on for longer than 5 minutes. Wood burning hot tub was the biggest disappointment with no jets, as it states in description its a bubbling wood fired hot tub and its not. Wood fired is definitely not for us as temperature is not easier to control either. Overall, we had a nice break and the animals were lovely to see, but we didnt really feel it was value for money.

Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. It is in a beautiful location, tucked away privately and the Blacks who host are so friendly. The decor is gorgeous and you can tell that everything has had thought and care put into it. We were also spoiled with breakfast at The Little Pig down the road, which was also a delight. Highly recommend!
