Overview

Beautifully renovated, designed and styled, Britannia House is immaculate without feeling stark, perfectly combining its good looks with a practically laid out space. Modern conveniences and entertainment facilities mean guests can get completely comfortable during their stay, whether whipping up batches of home bakes in the fully fitted kitchen or enjoying movie nights in beside the fire in front the flat screen TV.

Throughout the home you’ll discover an interior that has been lovingly filled with objects of interest, most of which will remind you of just how close you are to the sea, and we simply love the character and ambience of the place, from its paintings by local Cornish artists to period features like timber lintels, sash windows and fireplaces. Chandeliers dangle from the ceiling in the lounge, sumptuous sofas and armchairs beckon relaxation, and bookshelves in the gorgeous kitchen are crammed with holiday reads and cookbooks.

There are spaces to converge in like the family dining room and raised outside terrace with barbecue, and rooms to retreat to like three beautiful bedrooms including the elegant top floor master suite which sits under the eaves and has panoramic ocean vistas. This is a home that like Cornwall itself, welcomes you with open arms. Doused in sunlight and framed by spectacular sea views that can be enjoyed from nearly every room, it’s where time slows down to an alluringly laid-back pace and where wonderful memories of spending time together are made.

One of the county’s best loved stretches of coastline, west Cornwall is home to a bevy of beautiful beaches including those at Perranunthnoe, Sennen and Prussia coves, Carbis Bay and Porthcurno. We however are more than a little fond of Marazion’s own sandy beach which sits a mere stroll from Britannia house’s front door and sports the most staggering views of the iconic St Michael’s Mount. For water sports enthusiasts there are several reputable board and equipment hire companies based right on the beach so whether you’re a first-timer or a pro, you’ll be able to SUP, kayak or windsurf to your heart’s content, and if after all that exercise you feel a bit peckish, you’ll be able to tuck into a plate of delicious, freshly prepared Cornish fare at one of several good restaurants within the village.
