Very nice lodge, generally well kept. We stayed lodge 23…there are a few things the advert doesn’t tell you. Including that the hot tub is around the back, which is not gated or fenced, so if you’re bringing dogs, they have to stay inside the lodge for safety (and ours were not happy!) which did ruin the experience somewhat. Also the TV wasn’t great, it’s very old and you couldn’t log into Netflix or any other platform, so you’re back to the 1980s with basic channels and no tv guide. The grounds were beautiful, we didn’t dine in the restaurant but that also looked lovely. The quality of the lodge is good, so if you’re looking to just relax and switch off, I would still recommend

We appreciate your constructive comments regarding the hot tub and the TV. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the hot tub’s location and the TV. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will look into making improvements in these areas and making this more clear in the listing We hope to welcome you back in the future for an even better experience. Thank you for recommending us! Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal team

Lovely Weekend Break
5/5

We visited for a weekend break and really enjoyed ourselves. The lodge was fantastic. Very clean and had everything we needed. The bathrooms were lovely, gorgeous towels, very comfy beds, plenty of storage and all mod cons. The location was lovely and peaceful and we had a little resident robin. Combe Martin and Ilfracombe were very close. The on-site restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced. We had a lovely stay and can't wait to return. Penny

Lovely site and ultra private and quiet
4.5/5

This was the perfect base with the added bonus of an excellent hotel restaurant and bar close by. It was so quiet and private and perfect for me with my dog. There were lots of lovely walks within easy reach. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly and helpful .

Watermouth Lodge
4/5

Only downfall, we wish the hot tub was working at the front of the lodge, especially where we had a dog with us. Other than that, everything was good.

Third visit.
4/5

Third lodge stay, but this one was disappointing, the lodge had a broken hot tub with a broken floor slab on the top to stop cover flying off in the wind on the decking, so first mpression not good. When we got there it was quite a nice evening, could not sit outside as cushion for outside chairs were soaking & a mouldy mess. The working hot tub was around the back of the lodge, not very sociable, if our friends did not want to go in hot tub but we did, they could not sit & chat with us. No dressing gowns for the walk around to hot tub, but they did supply when told they were missing. Tv in lounge was not working properly, twice we had to let them know, on the third time, the lady who I think was the manager said, nothing we can do about that tonight, but tomorrow, on the day we were going home, not good enough, don't expect to pay over £200 per night, for our stay to be so disappointing, standards have slipped, would I go back again, probably not.

Julie, 31 Mar 2024

Hi Julie, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are sincerely sorry to hear you found your stay to be disappointing. I have spoken with Kentisbury regarding your feedback, they did say they wish they had been made aware of the cushions as they could of provided you with new clean and dry ones. Due to the constant rain they do get wet and sometimes need a wash and dry and now the weather has improved they will do this. They have tried to move the hot tub but due to it being incredibly heavy this has not been successful but they are trying to come up with a new way to do this. They saw that you were a previous guest and can understand the misunderstanding regarding the robes as these are now on request rather then provided on arrival. They will get some more outside furniture for round the hot tub. The manager did say they took a look at your TV the first time and got it working but they are unsure who looked at it the other times. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team

Lovely lodge in stunning location
4.8/5

Lovely accommodation very clean and well laid out. Was surprised to find a dishwasher and washing machine along with tea coffee and toiletries provided. My only disappointment was we were not on the lake which is why i booked it, even though it was pictured in the gallery of the lodge and the hottub was placed behind the lodge had no outside lights so we couldn't use it at night, being on the edge of the moors the nights are the darkest.

Kathryn, 11 Feb 2024

Hi Kathryn, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we are glad to hear you found the accommodation clean and enjoyed the extras provided. In regards to the lodge being on the lake, it does state on the website that this particular lodge is tucked away and does not overlook a lake but enjoys views of mature plants and trees and that the pictures are representational. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team
