Overview

With its turquoise water, white sands and lush tropical vegetation, Carbis Bay is a dreamy destination for family holidays on Cornwall’s beautiful west coast.

One of a small collection of individually owned homes, Horizon Bay occupies a ground floor position in the attractive Victorian Villa of Tremorna House - originally the residence of the St Ives School of Artists. With direct access to the South West Coast Path, St Ives’s culture-infused cobbled streets, lovely harbour and vibrant restaurant scene lie just 15 minutes’ walk away, while Carbis Bay beach is mere metres from the front door, so if you like to hit the water for an early morning swim, you can be breakfast table to sand within minutes.

Light-filled and airy, the apartment’s living room showcases wide sea views from the floor to ceiling triple aspect feature window, and a door leads outside to the large covered veranda where meals can be enjoyed in the fresh air and sunshine. Two bedrooms including an en-suite master with sea views and veranda access, as well as a child’s bunk room to the back of the home and a separate WC, provide ample room for a family of four, and the modern kitchen comes well equipped for home cooking.

Home to the iconic Tate St Ives Gallery and the famous Barbara Hepworth Museum, St Ives is also flanked by three beautiful beaches, so if lazing on the sand and paddling the waves is your idea of the ultimate coastal holiday, you’re in for a treat. The town is also a bit of a 'foodie' destination and is packed with numerous terrific restaurants including the award-winning Porthminster Beach Café.

Nearby, the small village of Lelant overlooks the Hayle Estuary, and boasts a the Duchy’s oldest golf course with views stretching up towards Godrevy Lighthouse. A scenic branch railway line links Carbis Bay and St. Ives with the main London-Penzance line at nearby St. Erth.

Please note that to access the apartment guests must open the gate and walk down the communal path. The apartment is down 23 steps on the bottom left and is sign posted ‘Horizon’.
