Overview

There’s something very special about holidays in Brixham. A South Devon town in Torbay made famous by its fish quay and working harbour, modern Brixham is awash with pretty cottages and ice cream shops, its vibrant atmosphere made even more enticing now that its foodie scene is flourishing. This is a lovely slice of the coastline and one that is particularly popular with families, owing to its proximity to some of Torbay’s best beaches and attractions, so if you’re looking for a fabulous getaway for both adults and children, it doesn’t get better!

The property’s two bedrooms (one a super king and one a twin) offer plenty of room for four guests, while the open plan living room and decked terrace sport wonderful views over the town and out towards the sea.

Inside there’s a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of worktop space, so if you fancy rustling up a home cooked creation or two, you’ll have everything you need to do so. When the weather’s bright you’ll be able to sit outside and enjoy afternoon drinks or fresh air dining while watching the sun set, and the apartment’s private garden gives children lots of space to play games or laze in the sunshine.

Brixham’s vibrant harbour forms the heart of the town and it’s here that you’ll discover places like Rockfish, Albero’s, Beamers and Simply Fish. If you like to start your day with a coffee, The Curious Kitchen serves a mean flat white (as well as sweet and savoury pastries), and if you’re even hungrier you’ll need to grab one of Porto Espresso’s Breakfast sandwiches.

Children will delight in crabbing off the quay, a local pastime that is synonymous with Torbay, or if they fancy feeling like Jack Sparrow for the day, there’s a wonderful replica of Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hind galleon that rests right in the harbour. Stroll past the marina and take in the scenes of sprawling ocean and sailing boats or buy an ice cream and walk to the end of the Breakwater for a terrific view back towards the town.

*Please note that a lot of the town of Brixham is built on the hills surrounding the harbour below. This property is a short yet steep walk up a hill from the town centre

Welcome to Brixham

There’s a nostalgic feeling to Brixham holidays that makes them feel a world away from the daily grind; a friendliness from the locals who call the town home as well as a tangible connection to its seafaring past. This picturesque town perched quietly on Devon’s south coast is still a bustling fishing port, where clusters of colourful cottages in every shade of the rainbow seemingly tumble down the hill towards the harbour’s quay, with boats and trawlers offloading their daily hauls ready to be transformed into the local restaurants’ ‘catch of the day’.

Brixham Breeze
5/5

Had a great time in the flat. It's close to the Brixham Marina, where we spent most evenings watching sunset The view from the balcony was pretty great too. It made you feel that you somewhere abroad and not in UK. The flat itselft was spacious and clean. Had everything you could possibly need. The steps to the property was a great workout

Lovely accommodation with great views
5/5

Lovely accommodation with great views over Brixham and the harbour. Clean and well presented. Main bedroom beds were very comfy, didn’t use 2nd bedroom. A bit of a squeeze but wasn’t a problem. Good storage space. Main lounge was roomy with comfy chairs and good TV access. Kitchen very clean and modern. Everything was switched off when we arrived including the fridge which we didn’t notice until the next morning! Well stocked with crockery etc but you’ll need to bring your own bin bags, foil, cling film, kitchen roll etc Bathroom had a good shower and storage. Good instructions about everything, which was useful, including the heating which took a while to warm up but was then lovely and comfy. Found parking up the hill on Mount Road, which was fine for us having dropped our luggage first by the entrance. Steep but short walk down to the town and harbour via steps, great yo be so close. Lots of eating places available, we went to Prince William Pub and Le Petit Maison, both excellent and great value. Walk to Berry Head was lovely and took about 40 minutes, well worth it for the views, also the breakwater walk about 20 mins to the lighthouse was lovely. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
