The South West Coast Path

Fancy a dose of fresh air and scenery? The South West Coast Path offers routes to Berry Head Nature Reserve or Broadsands Beach in Paignton to name but two. Both pass pretty coves and woodland, with fantastic views across the sea along the way.

Visit Greenway

If you’re an Agatha Christie enthusiast, her former summer retreat at Greenway is also a short drive away. This popular National Trust attraction offers a glimpse of her life, with the house and gardens preserved just as Dame Agatha left them — a beautiful day out for visitors of all ages.

Nearby, Broadsands Beach has wide sands and calm waters with kayak and SUP hire on the beach. There are two good beachside cafes, and plenty of space for children to build sandcastles and run free.

Where do we start? As locals we’ve had our fair share of Brixham’s finest F&C’s with a few of our all time favourites being Simply Fish and Rockfish (also great if you’re gluten free). David’s Fish & Chips is also a popular local spot.
Are there beaches in Brixham?

Breakwater Beach in the direction of Berry Head is a lovely little pebble beach which is sheltered to one side by the breakwater. The Breakwater Café is right on the beach so you’ll be able to grab yourself a bite to eat after your swim or enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the bay. St Mary’s Beach is another favourite lying outside of town – great as an all-year option for dogs.
