With its marine-inspired decor as well as fabulous indoor / outdoor living, this three-bedroom lodge is perfectly suited to families and groups of friends, offering plenty of space to socialise, entertain and relax in.

Guests who enjoy cooking will love the amply-equipped kitchen with its range cooker and gas hob, and two dining spaces (one inside and one out) mean meals can be shared together whatever the weather. The perfect holidays are those where you can truly relax, so features like Smart TV's and the private patio with it own bubbling hot tub invite you to unwind whenever you fancy it, and if getting active is on the agenda, you'll be delighted with the variety of land and water-based activities offered around the lake.

Take a short woodland walk and you’ll find the water sports & sailing centre, a fabulous children’s play area, café and restaurant, the perfect way to get away from the everyday. For those that want to travel a little further afield Buttercup Lodge provides the ideal base from which to explore Dartmoor National Park and the Tamar Valley Area Of Natural Beauty.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £150 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £25 per pet per week (no cats please), in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.
Hot Tub: Electric
Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.
Property surroundings: The resort caters for couples and families looking for a relaxing holiday in the Devon lakeside setting. It’s also perfect for gatherings making the most of the on lake activities that are available on Roadford Lake.

There are a limited number of additional visitor parking spaces outside reception, on a first come first serve basis

EV Charger Point

The site has two EV charging points for guest use, situated along from reception in two designated parking spaces. The EV charging point is by VendElectric, and charging will have associated costs as normal via their app. We kindly ask that once your vehicle is charged, that you park in your lodge car parking space to ensure the EV spaces are free for other guests on the site.

Excellent, 2 minor gripes

Overall excellent. Only 2 issues we had were that the beds were extremely uncomfortable, in particular the master. We ended up sleeping on the sofa for 2 of our 7 nights. And the company itself took the wrong payment initially, i alerted them, then had no contact to let me know the outcome or date for the additional payment that they needed, which then left me overdrawn causing a bank fee. So a little disappointed with those elements. The lodge itself was clean. Had everything we needed. Contact before the stay about the lodge was good. Can't complain overall, we loved our stay and would return if the matresses were upgraded.

Wonderful lodge break

We spent a week in Buttercup Lodge and had a brilliant time. The lodge is beautiful, has everything you need and was absolutely spotless. We did some fantastic walks around the lake and further away, and the hot-tub was a real treat afterwards. The cafe at the lake serves fab lunches and cakes. Would highly recommend a stay here, just bear in mind you need to travel if you want to eat out in the evenings

Beautiful lodge

I stayed in Buttercup Lodge for 7 nights. The lodge was lovely, very clean and tidy. The hot tub was an added bonus. Cannot fault the lodge or the booking system in any way at all. The only thing that spoilt it was disturbance by a group of all lads at a neighbouring lodge. They were quite noisy. I was under the impression that groups like this were not allowed in lodges eg stag/hen parties. Such a shame as otherwise the most peaceful place on the planet.

We really enjoyed our stay, nice quiet and very clean and a fantastic hot tub. Plenty to visit within driving distance, so was also a great little hub to be able to drive to different places. The lodge is well maintained and very comfortable that my 5 year old son was so sad to leave

Lovely place

We thought this was a lovely, spacious, lodge.Well appointed and in a lovely quiet location. Ideal for exploring both Devon and Cornwall We had an issue with the hot tub which was sorted quickly and without fuss. We loved it! My only tiny tiny grip was getting up one day, drawing back the curtains to find one of the maintenance team staring back at me. Felt a little invasive, but I guess thats how they keep the site looking so fantastic.

Lovely lodge spotlessly clean and in great location

Buttercup lodge is spacious and very well equipped. It was spotlessly clean and has everything needed for a great getaway. Set just a short walk from the cafe and lake, it is ideally situated for a relaxing and peaceful break. The hot tub was great and was checked regularly by on site staff. We enjoyed our visit to dingles fair just a short drive away and also Tavistock. I would thoroughly recommend the lodge and location.

New Year Treat

We had a lovely stay at Buttercup lodge over the New Year. The weather wasnt kind to us but we were happy in our warm, comfortable and cosy lodge. The only comments I would make was the need for extra chopping boards and additional plates and cutlery would have been helpful. Also, we were unfortunate for the hot tub not to be working which was something we were all excited about. However, we still had a wonderful time and hope to visit again soon when the water sports centre and cafe are open too.
