The perfect place to gather with family and friends for an ‘away from it all’ escape in one of Devon’s loveliest beauty spots.

Sleeping eight, the lodge includes four tasteful bedrooms including a fabulous master suite with its own shower room. A contemporary living / dining area functions perfectly as the social hub of the home which together with the kitchen, flows through French doors out to the private wrap-around patio. Furnished with an outdoor table and chairs, breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed alfresco while a private hot tub tempts long, indulgent soaks throughout the day and well into the evening.

Iris Lodge is pet-friendly so your four-legged family members are welcomed, and a host of fantastic walking routes in the area means you’ll be able to enjoy fresh air adventure to your heart’s content. Bring your bicycles, walking boots, canoes and paddleboards (or hire these from the adventure centre on the lake) – the area and its surrounds bursts with ample opportunity for both land and water-based adventure.

Good Housekeeping Bond or Accidental Damage Waiver
We ask our guests for a £150 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterward if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this. 
Alternatively, a one-off, nonrefundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £30 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week (no cats please), in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.
Hot Tub: Electric. Maintenance is carried out daily however, in the interest of guest privacy and for minimal disruption, this may occur in the very early hours of the morning,
Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.
Property surroundings: The resort caters for couples and families looking for a relaxing holiday in the Devon lakeside setting. It’s also perfect for gatherings making the most of the on lake activities that are available on Roadford Lake.
Additional Extras: Hot tub robes and extra large towel available to hire for £9 per person

The lodge has parking for two cars in an allocated space at the front of your lodge.
There are a limited number of additional visitor parking spaces outside reception, on a first come first serve basis

EV Charger Point
The site has two EV charging points for guest use, situated along from reception in two designated parking spaces. The EV charging point is by MONTA. Guests will need to download the free MONTA app to make payment. We kindly ask that once your vehicle is charged, that you park in your lodge car parking space to ensure the EV spaces are free for other guests on the site.
If both chargers are unavailable, we recommend using the fast-charging station in Lifton, around a 10-minute drive away.

What an amazing place

We booked this last minute and we were not disappointed. Lodge was beautiful, modern, light, extremely clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and more. The living space and beds were extremely comfortable. Hot tub was a lovely added bonus and relaxing. The location is beautiful, tranquil and relaxing and perfect for walks with our two dogs. Roadford lake is stunning and lovely little cafe to waste the time away in with delicious homemade cakes. My only negative would be no enclosed outside space so had to take dogs out in lead every time and you did have to pay £40 extra for each dog. We will definitely be returning

Washing machine didnt work , water in the shower didnt run away very quick , 1of the single mattresses very badly stained , if it wasnt for the fact we went with people with dogs , definitely wouldnt of been happy to stay in this lodge , had many other lodges at roadford lake and they have all been exceptional

Okay- was expecting luxury but the lodge is looking a little tired. Needs more glasses especially wine glasses, mix of very small glasses! Could do with a deep clean too.

The hot tub gave half of our party a bacterial rash

Very nice, quiet location near the edge of Dartmoor. We stayed during the Roadford Lake triathlon and the location was perfect. Unfortunately, the hot tub water hadn't been treated properly and three of our party got a bacterial skin infection from it (hot tub folliculitis), including two children. I emailed the agent to let them know and they blamed it on us, essentially telling us it was because we didn't shower before getting in the hot tub. I've requested evidence of the testing on the water completed before our stay but they haven't provided it. Very poor customer service and no acceptance that they could have done things better. I would avoid if you want a clean hot tub. We have owned a hot tub, regularly treated the water and have never had this problem. The instructions given in the welcome email for the EV chargers on site were also not correct. The QR code on the chargers said it wasn't registered to any payment system and the app the email said to download didn't recognise chargers in that location. I let the agent know this when I provided feedback about the hot tub and they said 'why didn't you complain while you were there?' It feels like they don't care about the issues raised and are just trying to avoid taking any responsibility. Will not be booking with them again.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. We are very happy to hear you loved the lodge and its location, however your feedback about the hot tub was a concern, and something we took extremely seriously. Our intention was never to suggest that anyone in your party was at fault. We simply needed to ask a number of questions to help us understand exactly what had happened and investigate the situation properly. We're sorry if this came across as a lack of care or as though we were pointing the finger at anyone, as that was absolutely not our intention. As discussed, we have now conducted an investigation with the hot tub management company and have been advised that the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled before and after every stay, with routine water testing carried out during guests' holidays. During your stay, the service person was unfortunately unable to complete some of these checks because the hot tub was still in use when they returned around 20 minutes later (the time stipulated in the guidelines for safe hot tub usage). We felt it was important to share this information and to clarify the circumstances around the water quality and checks. Regarding the EV chargers on site. At the time we weren't aware there was an issue with the QR code during your stay, but would have done as much as possible to help by conctacting the local support team for you. We do hope you enjoyed the triathlon and wish you all the very best.

The Lodge was very beautiful and very clean with everything that you need being provided. It was quite lovely and would definitely be back to celebrate with my friends. However, I was quite annoyed at the fact I had a noise complaint and I was called saying that we needed to be more quite in the middle of the day. The music was not loud as we were speaking and could hearing ourselves without having to shout. Overall, we did enjoyed our stay.

Just what we wanted

Wow myself and my sister brought this as a gift for our family for Christmas. My parents and auntie arrived for us and called to say just WOW! It was amazing. When we arrived we were so pleased with what we had booked. Such a beautiful and quiet location, the lodge was beautifully decorated, very modern and accessible (great for my dad whos mobility isnt great) So comfortable and clean. Also great for dogs. 1hr max to the places we wanted to visit. Great gym to use which we did most days. Highly recommend to others and we would love to come back.

The lodge was beautiful, warm, comfortable, spacious and realy well equipped. We booked a long weekend break in January for 4 adults 3 children and 1 dog for a celebration of 2 birthdays in the family. It was such a lovely break.

Second Christmas at Lifton

All six of us plus two dogs had a fabulous week! As before, the lodge was clean warm and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was in regular use and was much enjoyed. We will certainly be spending more christmases at Lifton in the future.

The accommodation had everything we needed, it was suitable for the whole family. It was comfortable and clean, very private, quiet and perfect for our needs. The site was very clean and well looked after. Beautiful surroundings and great walks. Very handy cafe nearby for food and drink. Plenty of places to visit that were a short drive away.

The lodge was clean and contemporary 3 of us stayed with our two dogs we all had a fabulous time even managed to use the hot tub between the rainy days. The only downside was that there is no enclosed garden would benefit from an area where the dogs could also in the garden
