Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £150 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.

Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.

Roadford Lake Lodges is a resort that caters for couples and families looking for a relaxing holiday in the Devon lakeside setting. It’s also perfect for gatherings making the most of the on lake activities that are available on Roadford Lake. It’s not suitable for party groups. more about Roadford Lake Lodges, DevonWhat a bitterly disappointment this lodge and site was. Site - dog owners were letting their dogs roam off lead. My dog was attacked. One of the reasons I chose this site was because it clearly said dogs were to be kept on lead. Site safety - the site has a gated entrance and you require to enter a key code to gain entry, or so I was led to believe. The truth is that anyone can gain entry into the site by just driving up to the gates and the gates open. Wheelchair accessible path around the lake is not accessible in a wheelchair. Lodge - a total impractical holiday accommodation. Bedrooms (especially bedroom 2) is incredibly small and difficult to move around. Unable to dress and undress in the bedroom. The wardrobes are only half size (not suitable for hanging up longer items). Not enough hangers for clothes. All beds were uncomfortable to sleep on. You could feel all the springs through the sheets (especially bed 2). No protective covers on the mattresses. Duvet on bed 2 was very thin and totally impractical for the colder months. Skirting boards were dusty and dont even mention the dirt behind the bedside cabinets! Bathrooms - cabinets were below sink only (a shelf would have been nice). Shower floor was incredibly slippy (no shower mat provided or rail to hold onto). The dust in both bathroom fans was black and disgusting. Main bathroom toilet seat didnt fit properly. Kitchen - no storage facilities for your food products (beside fridge/freezer). Therefore had to store food on the worktops, which meant nowhere to prepare a meal. No salt/rinse aid provided. Dining area - dining chairs were too low for comfortable eating and also showed signs of dirt and food deposits. Lounge area - TV had no signal. Reading the guest book, this has been a problem since it opened in February 2023. Therefore the only way to watch television was through apps (iplayer/itvx etc). This obviously heavily relies on the internet being strong, to which it wasnt and often buffering would ensue. Wi-Fi - sometimes ok, but often not. Heating - the thermostat was difficult to control and had some odd preset time/temperature settings .(often had to get up in the night to turn the heating off as it had come on and was at 26 degrees). No outdoor lighting - we had been informed of this before arrival and lamps provided - thank you. But again reading the guest book, this had also been an ongoing issue since opening. There were a few things that were good about the lodge - the hot tub was luxurious, the indoor lighting was excellent and the hairdryer was fabulous! Fridge and freezer were very clean. On the whole, our holiday experience at this lodge was appalling. We did not stay for the duration of our holiday as it was unsustainable for 7 days.

Hi Don, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are deeply saddened to hear about your disappointment with Cherry Lodge and Roadford Lake Lodges. Had we been made aware of these issues during your stay, we would have done our utmost to address them immediately to make your stay more comfortable. We ask all dogs to be kept on leads, and our team reinforces this rule whenever they see a dog off-lead. We are truly sorry to hear that your dog was attacked by another dog on site. We will explore ways to better enforce this rule to prevent such incidents in the future. Regarding the gates, they are automatic until a certain time at night, after which a code is required to open them. We apologise if there was any misunderstanding about this process. We regret that the wheelchair-accessible path around the lake did not meet your needs. Unfortunately, as Roadford Lake Lodges are not in partnership with the lake, we do not have control over this aspect. We strive to accurately represent the sizes of all rooms in our listings through images and descriptions and would never intentionally mislead guests. Following your comments however, the owner is considering replacing the Superking bed in the 2nd bedroom with a King bed to provide more space. We understand the frustration with the wardrobes having drawers at the bottom and are looking into the possibility of removing some of these to offer better hanging space. The owner has also provided hooks on the back of the bathroom doors which can be used for long items. We acknowledge that bed comfort is subjective and apologise that you found the beds uncomfortable. The owners provide mattress protectors, but these seem to go missing frequently via the laundry. We will ensure they are replaced. Additionally, there is a spare, thicker duvet in the wardrobe for guests who find the provided one too thin. A deep clean has been conducted since your stay, and we apologise for the cleanliness issues you encountered. The property owner will be purchasing a tub for the kitchen cupboards to provide guests with space for their shopping, and we will ensure this is kept clear for future guests. The TV is being examined by an outside maintenance team to resolve the ongoing issues with regular TV channels. Instructions for the heating system are included in the welcome pack. Had we been informed, we would have gladly sent our maintenance team to assist you. The outdoor lighting issue was due to incorrect wiring, which is due to be fixed shortly. We are glad the camping lights provided some assistance in the meantime. Once again, we are very sorry that Cherry Lodge did not meet your expectations. Beautiful Lodge in an amazing setting. Kevin the maintenance person was very helpful when there was an issue with the boiler. Very prompt and had a great sense of humour. The hot tub was perfect and we were lucky with the weather even though in the middle of October. Couple of issues we mentioned in guest book in lodge but things that would be easily sorted. Few more cooking trays and path out front slightly slippery when wet due to the being a little green. Would definitely go back to this lodge again. The cows gave us some good entertainment as we had to stop them eating next doors sun brolly!!

We were a family of four adults and two children. Staying Friday to Monday. 14 Cherry lodge is well equipped and in a perfect location on the site, overlooking fields when sat in patio and hot tub area. The lodge was clean, spacious and comfortable. The hot tub was enjoyed by all. A short walk takes you to the lake and cafe. Its a good base for travelling to surrounding attractions.
