Set within the 250 acres of natural woodland, Roadford Lake Lodges is an exclusive collection of 30 properties which are just a short drive of Devon and Cornwall’s coastline.

With its spacious interior, contemporary furnishings, and large patio complete with private hot tub, this home has all you'll need for relaxing family holidays. Three superior bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite, means that the property comfortably accommodates six people, with the open-plan layout of the living / dining and cooking space being perfect for both entertaining and socialising in. Rustle up fabulous feasts in the stunning industrial-style kitchen or sink into a nubuck leather sofa and soak up the tranquil atmosphere of the site. We ask our guests for a £150 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterward if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this. 
Alternatively, a one-off, nonrefundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £30 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.
Hot Tub: Electric. Maintenance is carried out daily however, in the interest of guest privacy and for minimal disruption, this may occur in the very early hours of the morning,
Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.

EV Charger Point
The site has two EV charging points for guest use, situated along from reception in two designated parking spaces. The EV charging point is by MONTA. Guests will need to download the free MONTA app to make payment. We kindly ask that once your vehicle is charged, that you park in your lodge car parking space to ensure the EV spaces are free for other guests on the site.
If both chargers are unavailable, we recommend using the fast-charging station in Lifton, around a 10-minute drive away.

A very relaxing quiet and peaceful location over looking a duck pond and direct access to Roadford lakes which is a great place to walk and enjoy the out doors, especially if you have a dog. The cafe is a good place to have coffee and cake over looking the lake. The lodge has 2 extremely comfy sofas and everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay. The hot tub was a great added bonus. This was our 4th visit to this particular lodge but have stayed here over 7 times. We absolutely love it.

Bit of a last minute booking due to family struggling to find the time from jobs etc for all of us to be together. Well what an absolutely brilliant find! The lodge was spacious for us 6 (mostly adults). It had everything you needed and was comfortable. We did bring our own fans due to hot weather (mid/high 20 c) which did help. The hot tub was large enough, the pond was a nice view with the ducks and the patch of grass was like our own private garden so my daughters could quietly sunbathe. The location was beautiful and great to pop off to different locations for walks and places in the national trust. We would definitely go back again!

Ended up in the ICU after staying here

Firstly, the lodge is comfortable and modern and the park is a peaceful escape. That i'm affraid is where the good aspects end. This is the second time we have stayed at Roadford lakes and the second time we have spent the first day cleaning the lodge (we have stayed in two seperate lodges). The pans, oven, windows and glasses were not clean at all with burnt food still left in one of the frying pans as well as stains/marks all over the sofa cussions. The kitchen would be well equipped except most of the utensils are broken and cant be used. This posed a problem for us as we booked a lodge specifically to escape our busy lives, relax and eat. Making food was very difficult with broiken utensils. The hot tub was not maintained buring our visit. There was no water checks and no chemicals added. I know this as i tested the water twice a day myself. As we were the ones using it, i wanted to check the water was safe. The chlorine levels were 0ppm, the PH was unsafe and i had to go buy some PH plus and chlorine to make the water safe to use. This brings me onto my main point. During the early part of the week, we saw a lot of rats around the pond, eating the ducks food just after they were fed by the site staff. We didnt think much of this as they were on the other side of the pond. During the last few days, we did see rats around the hot tub (pictures are available for site staff). I do wash my hands regularly but increased this frequency after taking the lid off the hot tub once discovering rats were around. Six days after we returned home, i got very unwell and was admitted to critical care in hospital. After describing where we had been on holiday and the presence of rats, the specialist requested a leptospirosis blood test which came back positive. At this point, jaundice was starting to set in and my kidneys were failing. Luckily after a week in the ICU, i started to recover and was allowed home. After discussing where we were at the lodge, the time we spent in the hot tub where rats were present and bearing in mind the gestation period of the disease, it was clear to the hospital specialist that i was infected with leptospirosis at Roadford lakes. The park is in the country and rats/wildlife will always be there which we know. If the hot tub was properly maintained and cleaned daily, i may not have ended up with a potentially fatal disease. After emailing luxury coastal with this information, the reply back was "sory to hear this i will let the park know". No mention of any compensation which would have been nice considering i almost died after returning. If you do book at Roadford lake, i would recommend using air b and b as they would offer compensation/refund if something like this happens on your visit. To avoid any confusion to luxury coastal/ roadford lakes, hospital discharge letters and doctors sick notes are available detailing this if required.

We were sorry to hear that you became unwell following your stay and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and giving us the opportunity to investigate them fully. As part of our review, we were able to confirm that the hot tub had been maintained and checked in accordance with the required procedures. As a further precaution, pest-control measures were also put in place, but no evidence of an infestation has been found and no further cases of illness have been reported. We take matters of guest health and safety seriously and are pleased that the checks carried out did not identify any ongoing issue at the property.

Roadford lake lodges is an ideal place to stay to unwind and press the reset button. The lodges are in top condition. With all the creature comforts you'll need .The layout of the site is cleverly done as each lodge is not over looked by another and the gym is a nice touch ,well stocked for all gym goers .located literally next to the lake which offers you and your dog a tranquil place to walk with a cafe not far away either. As like most myself and my wife have hectic lives and Roadford lake lodges offers the ideal break to reset and enjoy nature and peace

We had a fantastic stay at Saffron lodge. Very comfortable, especially the sofas! Great location for Lauceston castle and Lydford Gorge . Maintenance staff are excellent, and checked the hot tub daily to ensure it was in working order. The only change I would suggest would be an upgrade to some of the utensils, better pots and pans and a potato peeler . 5/5

Saffron is a lovely clean lodge, in a great location. Nice modern equipment, comfy beds (except for pillows that could be better), great layout. A couple of minor comments that could make it even better: not enough cutlery or crockery - if you are accommodating for 6 people, then you need at least 12 of everything so you don't have to wash everything after every meal! The dishwasher went on sometimes 3 times a day... huge waste of water and energy. Also, a few more cooking items would be helpful - larger bowls, serving dishes etc Overall, we had a fab week and will be returning as soon as we can.

Stayed for a long weekend with friends and a dog. Great location by the mini lake. Cabin was excellent, really comfortable and modern. Was a relaxed site close to the main lake which you could access from the site. My dog loved watching the ducks, luckily the pond was enclosed. The garden area wasnt enclosed so harder to all be in the hot tub at once so a ground spike is useful. The only thing I felt was missing was a chopping board. There is no bbq so if you want to buy disposables get matches as well as lighter in cabin didnt work. One of the outside doors did get stuck, its a bit of unusual opening mechanism but others were fine. Not much on site and no staff in office when I went. Pillows were a bit lumpy not very supportive. Take everything you need with you. Dispute this would really recommend this cabin, its a good location and would stay again on this site.

Family of 4 (2 teenagers 15) and a dog. The walks around the lake were fantastic. The lodge itself was magnificent. We made great use of the hot tub and the ducks kept us entertained. For the teenagers hot tub was key aswell.as great WIFI. Great lodge would recommend Saffron. Five stars from us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Saffron Lodge. The lodge was spotless and very well equipped. It was well positioned - private and quiet with the added bonus of watching the antics of the ducks, rabbits and other wildlife around the pond. The sun kept the lodge beautifully warm during the day. The hot tub was the cleanest I have ever seen. We appreciated being able to catch up on streaming our favourite shows in the evenings. Lots to do in the surrounding area and great walks around the lake.

I recently stayed at Saffron Lodge and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in a tranquil location, this lodge offers the perfect escape from everyday life. The accommodation was clean, modern, spacious with elegantly furnished rooms with beautiful views out to the duck pond and beryond. The location is ideal for taking day trips to places like Tintagel and The Eden Project, while closer to home there's an activity centre on the shores of the lake nearby.

We arrived in June for 1 week to a beautifully clean and fresh home. The towels were rolled up on the foot of the beds, the linen was crisp and freshly laundered. The kitchen and bathrooms were gleaming and although doggy friendly there were no signs dogs had been in the home. The location of Saffron Lodge is perfectly tucked away, no cars or people passing by. We woke each morning to ducks quacking, birds singing, bunnies hopping around, squirrels looking for nuts and even a deer munching on the branches. The lodges do not have enclosed gardens for doggies but Saffron Lodge has a nice grassy back garden area. I took a 10 meter long line and attached it to a fence post so my dog could have freedom but stay safe, he loved it Roadford Lake is stunning, with beautiful walks and scenery finished off with cream tea at the cafe The hot tub is checked daily, a guy comes round and uses a net to clean any debris and checks the chemical balance which I really liked, knowing the water was clean and safe gave me peace of mind. The lodges are in a good location, we went to Tintagel Castle and Port Isaac which were both a 50 mins scenic drive away. Perfect for exploring. There is a Lidl and Tesco about 7 miles away. There is a pub aprox 3 miles from the lodges, although we didnt visit this. The cafe had lovely food, we enjoyed a full English breakfast looking out over the huge lake. Amazing sunsets over the lake from the cafe too. I highly recommend a visit to Saffron Lodge, we will most definitely be heading back soon.

We stayed at Saffron Lodge at Roadford Lake for two weeks at the beginning of May. I have to say it was probably the best UK holiday we have had. The area around the lodges is superb. Its very well maintained with beautiful grass areas and bushes/flowers, really lovely. Saffron Lodge was the ideal location for us, hidden away at the bottom next to the pond. The lodge was very clean and had everything you could want. We loved the outdoor seating area (It would be nice if some sun beds could be put there). The lake was lovely to walk and run around. The cafe next to the lake has great views and its a great place to get a coffee. Unless youre happy to stay in your lodge/local to the lake, you need a car to get out and about. We dined at The Fox and Grapes, which is a pub in Lifton. (Dog friendly).The food was home made and very delicious. Strawberry Fields is a gorgeous place to get groceries and they have a wonderful restaurant too (dogs okay in the outdoors). Launceston has some big supermarkets if you need them. The location of the lodge is great for visiting other areas in Devon & Cornwall. We visited Tintagel, Plymouth, Port Isaac and went for walks on Dartmoor a couple of times. We went to Black Rock beach in Bude (dog friendly all year). We also went to the Jamaica Inn. Next time, well go a bit further down into Cornwall for the day. We have had the holiday blues since being back, as we had such a wonderful time. Luxury Coastal has some fab place to stay and will be using them for our September get-away.

Review of our week break.

Overall we had a nice stay - the lodge was clean and well equipped. The area was lovely and quiet. Our lodge did seem unfinished as there were wires hanging out the wall in one of the bedrooms (looked like they were waiting for a TV to be mounted) and screws on the wall waiting for photos etc to be hung. We did however have no internet for the whole of our stay and there was very little signal. This caused significant problems as one of our party needed to work during the break and rather than being able to do this during the evening we had to go out in the day specifically for them to access internet - which affected everyone's week. we did report the issue and it was only our lodge as we spoke to other guests. Although we spoke to the 'manager' several times he was little to no help, showed no concern or sympathy and did nothing to resolve it except say he had contacted the IT team. It would have been a nice gesture if he had visited the lodge and expressed some urgency to resolving the matter. I feel that the lodges are let down by the lack of on site assistance and lack of customer service. Whilst I would potentially stay here again I would not rush to and would look at alternative locations that are better managed.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the wires in the bedroom wall, these were in place from when the property was finished two years ago, in case the owners decided to add a tv, however, there are no plans to install one in that bedroom and we have had no complaints regarding this previously. We are sorry about the hook for the picture, the picture that had been up was unfortunately broken by a previous guest and the replacement had not arrived in time for your stay, for which we are very sorry. With regards to the WiFi, unfortunately were unable to guarantee the speed or availability at each property as many properties are in remote or rural locations and Roadford Lake is quite rural. Occasionally, when the site is full, and the weather not great, the Wifi can be very slow as lots of people are using it. I am sorry to hear the maintenance person was not able to help to visit the property with the issues whilst you were there, but he has confirmed he contacted the external company to ask them to look into it for you. We would highly recommend this destination and would return. However, a couple of points to note. 1/ Although the sheets were clean there was obvious marking on the duvet covers where presumably dogs had been allowed on the beds 2/ The kitchen was minimally kitted out with crockery and glasses and lacked coffee making equipment not even a cafetiere (only a kettle).

A Very relaxing comfortable set up

This is a small site very well set out and presented. Very clean and tidy and all the homes are very well maintained. They are luxurious inside with loads of space and have everything you could need. The site staff were always on site if needed and were very helpful. We chose the Saffron as it was set back from the road and we had a dog, it was right on the pond and looked one of the more secluded lodges and we were not disappointed. One slight area for improvement may be that the garden/lawn area to each lodge could maybe have had some sort of fence enclosure to stop dogs wandering to far especially when you are in the hot tub, our dog is pretty well behaved but if your dog likes to wander it could, I realise the open plan makes easy access for grass cutting etc but just a thought. I had not been too fussed about lodges with hot tubs before on previous trips ( generally quite a bit more expensive and just didn't see the need ). As the cost of these lodges was very reasonable and the hot tub was included I thought bonus. We made use of it every night and it was so relaxing after a day exploring and in this particular lodge you have the added bonus that its one of the most private on the site and it overlooks the pond with all of its resident wildlife, ducks, squirrel's and rabbits, sooo relaxing. The lake was a short walk through the trees where there is a lovely cafe which is very reasonably priced and serves great food. We took paddle board and Kayak and had hours of fun every night in the lake. I would highly recommend this site if you just want to get away from it all and have as relaxed a time as you choose or if you are prepared to travel, at most an hour and a half in any direction gets you to all the areas of interest in Devon and Cornwall, with some great little places within half an hour. All in all we had a great week and a big part of that was this site and we would definitely like to come again one day.

Roadford Lake for 28 days

Roadford Lake Lodges , beautiful countryside and easy walking access to the Reservoir itself, Grounds around the Lodges were kept immaculate as were the hot tubs, serviced regularly. We talked to the Guest Manager, Kevin. Very responsive. We had an issue with locking the front door, + opening the tall glass living room doors. This double lock system was new to us - Kevins explanation was simple, easy and kindly received. Also he fixed the shower glass door which had jumped off its rails before arrival. The house keeping lady came one day and explained we would have weekly change of linens and towels and we thought at least a weekly clean of Saffron Lodge. we did get extra towels early on and mostly got weekly linens but the lodge cleaning never happened. We did have a washer dryer that worked superbly. Open plan kitchen living/dining we are used to and love it. Kitchen was workable but not quite as comprehensive a set of cooking things as I had hoped. However the local Supermarket in Launceston had a roasting dish with lid that was perfect. Better for the oven as all splatter is contained.. Believe the previous occupant may have missed that too or maybe they were oblivious. Just before we left we heard The Lodges had lost a key housekeeping person - with no handover not an easy time for the Team to recover. The Lodges were pretty busy - despite this we all coexisted pretty well. All in all a good stay.

Great escape from city life

The lodge was lovely and comfortable and the hot tub was just what the doctor ordered. My only issue was that there was only 1 toilet role provided per bathroom for our 1 week stay. The wifi was good and the kitchen was clean and had great facilities for cooking. A very enjoyable trip on the whole and I am definitely planning on going back.

Lukewarm water and hot tub

Lovely comfortable lodge. The only concerns I had was the temperature of the hot water for the bath was barely warm. The hot tub though very enjoyable has been installed the wrong way around. If you enter from the decking it's a massive step into the tub. If you enter the other side there is a step in the hot to get in or you need a set of steps on this side. It could become a health and safety issue if some slips trying to get in.

A perfect place for the whole family

We loved our stay. In fact, we didn't want to leave. The facilities were perfect and everything felt shiny and new. So comfortable... we instantly relaxed when we walked into the property. The boys loved having disney+ and Netflix to keep them entertained... but only when they were not in the hot tub enjoying the view of the ducks in the pond. So quiet, so many memories made! Thank you
