It offers a quiet sanctuary where guests can relax and unwind in the hot tub taking in the scenery and varied wildlife that call the woods home. And, if you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the local deer or the many birds of prey that soar above the treetops. With a covered bike store alongside, you can explore the bike trails in one of Devon’s most popular mountain biking destinations.
Inside the lodge you will find everything you need in the kitchen to show off your culinary skills and prepare a delicious meal after a day of adventure in the forest. Although you may feel like you’re in the wilderness, there is a fully licensed American diner just a few hundred metres from the lodge which is open from breakfast until late.
Further afield the historic city of Exeter is a 10 minute drive away, great for a spot of retail therapy or taking in the varied history on offer, such as the cathedral and historic quay. If you are craving the fresh sea air and the feel of sand between your toes, Dawlish Warren and Exmouth are both close by, perfect for lazy days by the coast.
Whatever your perfect holiday looks like, once you get back to Haldon Forest Lodge you have the perfect space to relax and unwind in comfort.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £200 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.

Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.
Additional Extras: A cot bed, travel cot and two high chairs can be supplied - please let us know if you would like any of these items for your stay

Haldon Forest Lodge is best suited for couples and families looking for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful setting. It’s not suitable for party groups. If your booking falls outside either of these groups, please get in touch before making your booking to discuss your requirements.
Please note this property accepts a maximum of 4 adults. Groups of 6 can be accepted but must be made up of 4 adults and 2 children. Over occupancy of infants is not allowed.

Fantastic lodge. Spacious and modern with everything you need! Ideal location for exploring so many locations you can visit like Exeter, exmouth, sidmouth all relatively short drives away! When we arrived we was greeted by the hosts Adrian and his wife who couldnt have been more welcoming! They went out of there way to ensure we had a great stay! Highly recommend!

Great location, but spoilt by lack of attention to detail

Lodge was not clean by my wife & I's standards. Mould was apparent on all window reveals showing that it had been shut up over winter but not cleaned properly. Mould was discovered in the kitchen cupboard under items and general dirt was discovered in the utensils draws. Main bathroom had evidence of mould especially at front of shower door. there were 2 front doors to lodge and in the picture in the adverts, shows that this is open. However, was told we could not open it in fear of water from the hot tub going into the lodge. I called owner to talk about key collection 2 days prior to visit to be told that there would be some logging activity going on that he had only just been made aware of. However, on arrival at the lodge, there is a sign affixed to the gateway entering the forest stating that logging work would be starting in Dec and ending Mid March which begs the question of the owners integrity. Classed as a luxury lodge that had a premium price, this needs to be reviewed by Luxury Coastal as a matter of urgency. Reason for not bring these issues to the attention of the owner is that the idea of going away to a secluded lodge is not to be disturbed. These issues would not have been resolved in a few matters but days. We were not wanting to be disturbed. However, virtually everyday the owner was seen hanging around which made it uncomfortable for my wife and I. On the last night of our stay, I discovered a CCTV camera on a high pole that we assumed was directed at the forest entrance gateway. Unfortunately, I discovered that the camera panned around as I was moving. If this is the owners camera, this needs to be highlighted as such. Overall, not impressed with the cleanliness or integrity of the owners and would not recommend the high price it commands.

We have always stated there is CCTV at this property and have since discovered that when we upgraded our website in November this notification did not transfer across. Please rest assured this has now been relisted. We always look to be open and honest with all of our guests and would not wish to withhold such information knowingly. Fantastic time at Haldon Forest Lodge

We had a lovely stay at Haldon Forest Lodge at the start of August 23. It's such a beautiful location. The lodge is very homely and has all the amenities we needed for our family of 6. The host, Adrian was very welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay so much we immediately wanted to book to stay again later this year.
