Elegant, spacious and beautifully equipped, The Fairings is a refurbished grade II listed cottage that settles in a quiet corner of St Ives just 15 minutes’ walk from the town’s centre. Amongst the home’s many assets are a sumptuous living room with huge granite inglenook fireplace and wood-burner, an open-plan kitchen/diner with slate flagstone flooring and full width bi-fold doors, and a large and lush garden with two paved sun terraces - all of which create the perfect place for glamorous gatherings and carefree multi-generational family holidays.

Set over two floors, guests can pick from four tastefully appointed bedrooms, all of which are light and airy with comfortable beds and gorgeous furnishings. A lovely twin lies on the first floor along with a shower room, while the remaining bedrooms which include a second twin, a king and the master en-suite can be found on the first floor, together with a fabulous family bathroom and its free-standing bathtub. The sociable open-plan kitchen/diner with its inviting snug has exposed granite walls and garden views so you can cook, eat and unwind in complete comfort, and glass doors leading out to the terrace and gardens make it the perfect space for indoor/outdoor entertainment.

Ideal for relishing this beautiful slice of the Cornish coastline, holidays at The Fairings centre around the coast. The South West Coast Path is just a 10-minute walk from the property, while Porthmeor Beach, the harbour and town centre are 20-minutes' walk. St Ives bustles with many lovely independent shops and galleries making it perfect for a day of exploring, and a fabulous foodie scene with a focus on local produce, means you can enjoy a delicious meal out at places like Source Kitchen and The Balcony Bar & Kitchen. Porthminster Beach is under 10 minutes’ drive (or less than half an hour is you choose to ditch the car during your stay), and the pretty streets of St Ives with its galleries, independent shops, restaurants and harbour are a 15-minute walk. The aquamarine waters and golden sandy beach at Carbis Bay are 10 minutes by car, along with a clutch of fashionable eateries, cocktail lounges and C Spa at the Carbis Bay Hotel.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £500 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas
Number of steps: 13 steps down from the car park and 2 from the front gate. 1 flight of internal stairs.

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.

Charcoal BBQ: Guests are asked to supply their own charcoal and firelighters

The range of appliances includes a 5-ring gas hob with electric oven, an under-counter larder fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, and a Bosch Tassimo pod coffee machine. The island and work surfaces are topped with polished granite

The spacious Master bedroom is flooded with natural light and has its own en-suite shower room. French doors open out to a Juliet balcony with glass balustrade which overlooks the garden and terrace. Furnished with a king-size bed, bedside tables with lamps, a rattan bench at the end of the bed, a dressing table with upholstered stool, a mirror and a huge wardrobe space

A delightful south-facing bedroom with sash window and exposed stone. Furnished with twin beds, a bedside table with lamp, a chest of drawers, an occasional chair and a mirror

This large attractive bedroom features exposed granite with double south-facing sash windows. Furnished with a king-size bed, bedside tables with lamps, a dressing table, mirror, chest of drawers and an armchair as well as hooks for hanging clothes

The beautifully maintained south-facing garden has gentle, sloping lawns and mature shrubs. The paved terrace is tiered with the upper level accessed via 5 steps. Here you’ll find a large dining table with seating for 8. Two sun-loungers are provided, as well as a charcoal BBQ which is stored in the outside shed. There is plenty of space to store bikes, wetsuits, boards and beach gear.

Parking
Parking for two cars in the double carport which is accessed from Chy-An-Dour Close. While street parking is available we urge guests to please be considerate of neighbours and their driveways. Alternatively, paid parking is available at St Ives Rugby Club on Alexandra Road (about 15-minutes' walk)

Wonderful stay in a lovely cottage

We had a lovely stay with our two golden retrievers, the cottage was comfortable and well equipped. As previously mentioned in the reviews the only thing to note is the parking clearance is quite low..we had to remove our roof box to fit into the carport.Aside from that minor inconvenience everything was fantastic and we would highly recommend it. Most mornings we took the coastal path into St Ives which is a wonderful walk and takes about an hour at slow pace. Totally recommend Bier Huis in St Ives ..great ambiance, great food and beer and very dog friendly! We also had a Thai takeaway twice as it was so deliciousTalay Thai kitchen ! We visited a National Trust Trengwainton Garden..again very dog friendly and stunning grounds with a little beach and St Michaels Mount . We were very lucky with the weather so a fantastic, stress free getaway that I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing escape.

A quiet retreat in St Ives

For those wanting to stay in St Ives but away from the hassle of tourists and limited parking etc. in the centre, the property is nicely situated on the edge of town with a great outdoor space to relax . A good uphill walk back from town but easy taxi ride or bus if not able. Property well appointed and plenty of space for a large group. Parking for two cars a bonus in St Ives and although tight to get through the entrance will fit a large 4x4(X5). If you have a roofbox it will need to be removed first though.

We had a wonderful stay despite the weather not being all that great quite a lot of the time! But the accommodation made up for that by being comfortable, spacious, dog friendly and had everything we needed for catering in or relaxing in on a wet and windy evening. We did have some neighbourly football retrieval from the garden on a fairly regular basis. This wasn't a problem (other than the dog loving a ball) but there is clearly regular access made to the garden by the neighbours children. This was happening even when we were in clear sight.

All good, just a couple of small niggles

This cottage is very lovely, it is in a great location and has beautiful furnishings. Everything was very clean. The only negatives for us was that the heating is controlled centrally and we felt it was set a little low. We made use of the real fire each night so we were fine but it was chilly going into the bedrooms at night, especially the downstairs one. My mum would also like me to add that there is no door dividing the master bedroom from the en suite, it is all open plan. She wasn't sharing so it was fine but asked me to mention it as she says she would have been uncomfortable with this if sharing the room. Apart from this all was good and we would happily stay here again.

Great Family House in beautiful st ives

What a treat! Although the weather was very mixed over the week we were in st ives the property had plenty of space and was so comfortable for 6 of us and a baby and 3 dogs! Fairings is very well appointed and equipped! Great garden for the dogs and a privilege to stay in such a beautiful old property. St Ives itself is charming and the beaches are beautiful. I can honestly say each member of our party had an absolutely wonderful time. We will be back and thank you Luxury coastal for making our week such a very special family time !

We stayed at Fairings for a week in September as a family of 5 + our spaniel. Our adult children joined us and the accommodation was perfect for our requirements, the lounge is separate from the large and well equipped kitchen but open enough that you still feel together as a group. The bathroom layout worked really well for us and the utility room was the perfect drying room after a number of wet walks. The garden was secure for the dog and there are walks straight from the door. We walked into St Ives every evening where there are a great variety of restaurants to choose from. As a group of adults the house was perfect and it's so beautifully decorated and furnished, it felt like home from home and was a real treat to stay here. If we come back to this part of Cornwall we'd love to stay here again.

The house is beautiful and would definitely stay again but just with adults or grown up children rather than young children, only because of the garden layout and the wall (which we we were concerned they could fall off whilst running around in the garden) If we queried anything it was answered straight away, the house was clean and very well equipped.

Lovely home from home

A beautiful, comfortable house tastefully decorated and dressed. Very clean and well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Parking is clever, opening out onto the garden and although it is tight, you can fit 2 big 4x4 type vehicles in if you're decent at parking. Location is great as it's very peaceful but a reasonable walk to town and beaches etc, no need to drive anywhere if you don't want to. Lovely to have the well equipped garden with BBQ also, with regular squirrel visitors. We really loved it. The only negative is that the downstairs bedroom smells a little damp. It does have a dehumidifier which fills up quickly but easy to empty.
