Overview

For those of us who’ve already visited this coastal destination in North Devon, we know it’s a special place! Tucked into the stunning North Devon coastline, Croyde is a small village with a big heart, known for its laid-back atmosphere, picturesque surroundings, and, of course, its world-class surf. Best known for its beautiful beach and surfer culture, when the waves are working, the conditions are nothing short of epic. If you're a surfer, you'll feel right at home catching the breaks with the locals, and if you're not, there are plenty of surf schools to get you standing on a board.

Incredible views over the sea and sand mean you’ll be settling into the laid-back coastal lifestyle that Croyde is famous for, from the moment you step inside. Three upper floor bedrooms comfortably sleep six guests, with a master that not only has stunning sea views, but its own en suite bathroom, furnished balcony and separate entrance. Downstairs, there’s an open plan living room with doors that open out to the fabulous front patio where you’ll be able to unwind in the sunshine or dine al fresco while taking in those extraordinary sea views to the sound of waves rolling into shore.

Croyde itself has a lovely charm, with quaint thatched cottages, a village green, and a good selection of local pubs and tearooms. Pretty gardens, hanging baskets and potted shrubs dot the streets, so if you’re partial to a laid-back stroll after Sunday brunch or your cream tea, you’ll particularly enjoy Croyde’s lovely atmosphere as you wander around.

Lovely house & fantastic location. Amazing views of bay, sunset & moonlight as well as sound of waves from lounge, terrace, balcony & master bedroom. High quality & clean BBQ. Loved our stay here although there was room for some improvements where a few things - paintwork, outside steps up to master bedroom, lack of cushions for outdoor chairs, would have made outdoor space more comfortable. No reclining loungers. 3rd bunk room a tight squeeze. Communal outdoor shower a bit mangey.

Hi Julie, Thank you for your thoughtful review and for highlighting the aspects you enjoyed about your stay. We’re thrilled to hear that you loved the house, its fantastic location, and the stunning views of the bay, sunset, and moonlight. It’s great to know that the sound of the waves and the high-quality BBQ added to your enjoyment. We appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the areas for improvement. We will certainly look into refreshing the paintwork, addressing the outside steps to the master bedroom, and adding cushions for the outdoor chairs to enhance comfort. We also take note of your comments about the lack of reclining loungers and the tight space in the third bunk room, as well as the condition of the communal outdoor shower. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our guest experience. We hope to welcome you back in the future and provide an even more comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you once again for your review. Best wishes, The Luxury Coastal Team

Great location
4.7/5

As an extended family - grandparents, parents and two young children 7 & 4 - this was an excellent base for a family holiday in North Devon. The house contained everything you needed and was spotlessly clean. We were asked to strip the beds on leaving and noticed just how clean the beds and under bedding were- full marks! I normally refrain from looking under pillow cases and at mattresses whilst on holiday - in case I don’t like what I see! The views of Croyde Bay were stunning and with small children in tow we visited the beach and rock pools whenever we could - despite slightly chilly and occasionally rainy weather we managed this quite a bit. As the house is mere minutes away we were able to choose to go at anytime. We are not surfers but this would be paradise for those who are . Instead we happily played in the large and quite deep rock pools with the children and paddled. We were able to rinse off any sand in an outside shower to avoid taking into the house which was very handy. On warmer days the lovely courtyard at the back of the property would have been great for meals en-famille but sadly it was just a little too cool and breezy when we went. The only criticisms ? Our parking space was used by another resident for a few days so we had to park one of our cars elsewhere - he did apologise and moved his car. We also had to spend quite a time sorting out the new tv which had not been set up- with no instruction manual we had to find online instructions to do it. It was worth it to get CBBC - the children could survive! The electric towel rail in one of the bathrooms was broken and we had to run it using the central heating system. These things were reported back so hopefully will have been noted. We had a lovely holiday in a great location and would not hesitate in recommending this holiday let . Thank you Luxury Coastal!
