Overview

One of just a few properties in the town’s 15th Century Academy Place, the cottage nestles in blissful obscurity behind Fore Street’s boutiques, bakeries and cafes. There are no street-facing windows or clues to its existence other than an inconspicuous set of steps running between two shops, so for guests who love the idea of being away from it all yet close to the beach and the town's terrific restaurants, it’s simply perfect.

Once inside, you’ll feel immediately welcomed into a cosy space awash with period features and comfortable furnishings. Low beamed ceilings and exposed dry-stone walls in the living area nod to the building’s age and heritage, while the two upper floor bedrooms create bright and airy sanctuaries for relaxation and sleep. The kitchen is amply equipped for cooking and baking, with an outside laundry room offering guests all the convenience of home. The small courtyard garden to the back of the cottage means those with pups in tow have a secure space for all members of the family to soak up the sunshine or stretch their legs.

One of Cornwall’s most popular beauty spots, the pretty port of St Ives boasts views over an aquamarine bay, along with four main sandy beaches including Porthmeor, Porthmister, Porthgwidden and Harbour Beach. Carbis Bay lies a scenic walk away, and within easy driving distance too are Porthkidney Sands, Hayle, Upton Towans and Gwithian. Of course, St Ives is well-known for its long-standing and vibrant art scene, with galleries like The Tate showcasing some of the best of Cornish creativity. The town also has a terrific selection of foodie spots, so if you fancy eating out you'll have award-winning beachside cafes, seafood restaurants and bistros to choose from.

To access the cottage guests will need to climb 13 steps which may not be suitable for those with limited mobility

Welcome to St Ives

There’s something special about holidays in St Ives and we just can’t quite put our fingers on it. It could be the beautiful light that’s attracted artists to the resort for generations, the cobbled streets and coastal views…or that feeling of being a world away from the hustle and bustle. Whatever it is, St Ives has a charm that’s unlike any other, and we’d recommend it at any time of year.
