A stunning contemporary beach house with a hot tub, offering a unique position overlooking the beautiful sandy Hendra Beach. This listing includes the addition of The Love Shack which is a renovated self-contained room with king size bed, a shower room, a small kitchenette, and fabulous sea views.
Little Cottage was originally a fifteenth century Fisherman’s cottage overlooking Praa Sands beach, designed by award winning architect Alex Michaelis, and was designed to maximise the incredible sea views from all the living spaces, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
Located footsteps away from the ocean, only the garden separates it from the sandy beach and sea. The open plan living space features floor to ceiling windows where you can take in the incredible views while relaxing with a morning coffee. The lovely wood burner ensures cosy evenings in with the family, reflecting on a busy day exploring the coast.
Four of the bedrooms have king size beds with incredible sea views and the family room located on the ground floor is furnished with two sets of bunk beds, ideal for children. There are six bathrooms within the property (five of which are en suite) and a separate cloakroom with WC. Outside the garden includes a large patio with seating and fire pit, and direct access to the beach at the bottom of the lawn. There is a hot tub to the side of the house where you can soak, relax, and take in the scenic views.
Little Cottage is located within Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The famous South West Coastal path is very close by where you can take scenic walks to Marazion or Porthleven. Low tide is the perfect time to have a trip to St Michael’s Mount where you can walk across from Marazion and explore the incredible castle and grounds.
High tide is a great time to visit Porthleven, seals and dolphins can be spotted along the walk. When at Porthleven, there are a host of terrific restaurants that you can pick from. A 30 minute drive away is St Ives where you can walk around the cobbled streets and visit quirky shops. There are many sandy beaches in St Ives and you can walk along to Carbis Bay via the South West Costal Path.
*Little Cottage welcomes two dogs. Please note that the garden isn’t completely enclosed and has a path that leads straight on to the beach

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £500 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.

The garden which includes a large patio with Rattan lounge suite and firepit has out of this world views over the sea that span the whole bay. Direct access down to the beach is via a short path at the bottom of the lawn.
There’s a picnic bench with another firepit, a charcoal BBQ, Jacuzzi (to the side of the house), hammock, trampoline, Ping Pong table (under cover), tree house, slide, outdoor shower and surf / beach gear store with Boogie boards)
Inside, off the first floor landing, there’s a door that leads to a suntrap decked terrace -

Parking for two cars on the front drive with space for an extra vehicle right in front of the gate to the property. There is also additional parking in a small car park a few metres from the house but this is on a first come first served basis

Beautiful property but poorly maintained

We stayed here July 5-12 during a heatwave. Unfortunately, and aside from the bedrooms, the property has no form of shading to the huge windows in the open plan living area, or up the stairs and along the bedroom corridor. The temperature inside, day and night, was very very uncomfortable. We didnt expect air con but fans would have been nice. In addition no comfortable shaded seating area to relax and eat is provided outside. Not even a parasol. It isnt enough to charge huge sums of money to rent this property based on position and views, which were beautiful. In our opinion the property has been lacking on going maintenance inside and out for some time. We used the Love Shack as well. This also poorly maintained and not very clean. Items in bathroom rusted. Window and patio doors couldnt be opened. Window rusted up and doors opened onto a drop and we had a dog. We were a family party of 9 and we did have a wonderful time but that in main was due to the beach and hot tub.
