Set within just a short amble of Newquay’s famous Fistral Beach, Ocean View is wonderfully placed for a coastal family getaway, and with four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms there’s ample room for eight guests to get seriously comfy.

Arranged over three floors, the elegant living room can be found on the first, and with access out to a small, unfurnished terrace it’s the perfect place to enjoy lazy afternoons curled up with a cup of tea and a good book – doors open and the sea air drifting in. Sharing this floor is a spacious twin bedroom (which can be made up as a king); the utterly gorgeous family bathroom; and the magnificent master suite with king size bed which has its own wall-less shower room for an added touch of decadence. Sprawling across the second floor is a sleek open plan entertaining space made up of a fully equipped kitchen and a roomy dining area. This floor spills out onto a fabulous, furnished terrace with views over Fistral and out to sea, so for a light lunch or evening drinks, there’s no better spot to while the hours away.

Upstairs at the very top of the maisonette, a lovely triple aspect bedroom along with a second twin and a shower room, create a fantastic option for families with children in tow, but is equally well-suited to two couples sharing the floor as the twin beds can be linked to form a super king size bed.

Just five minutes’ walk from Ocean View, the town centre bustles with life as its restaurant scene and surf culture add an energetic vibrancy to its streets, and for visitors of all ages the town’s aquarium and zoo are two great choices for spending a family-friendly morning or afternoon together. However, its Newquay’s iconic beaches and wave-based lifestyle that draw holidaymakers to this slice of Cornish coastline all year round, so if you fancy suiting up and heading out past the breakers, there are numerous reputable board hire companies and surf schools available right on Fistral’s doorstep.

Nice place in a good location

We stayed at Ocean view during an early July 2026 mini heatwave! (very rare for Newquay, we know, we've been there 16 times and stayed all over the town and never had weather this good!) The good point about Ocean View is it's location, being fairly near Fistral beach (although not as close as Headland Road area apartments are). It is a short walk to Sainsbury's, town center shops, the Harbour and the local pubs (Like the Red Lion and The Fort Inn). The apartment was clean when we arrived (and when we left!) It has a nice open plan upstairs kitchen/dining space leading onto the balcony area. You could just about see some of Fistral bay and the golf course from there as well as having a view towards the Atlantic hotel to the north. The local pigeons are so friendly that they often just strutted into the kitchen! So mind you don't shut one in when you go out. The rooms were a decent size as well. There were a couple of drawbacks. Unusually for Newquay it was very hot, we brought a fan or two but could have done with a few more supplied. We seemed to be lacking pizza wheels and a few baking trays The main bedroom has a shower and toilet in it, but weirdly no dividing wall or sliding door between them and the bedroom which lacks privacy if you want that. The upstairs balcony could have done with a little better furniture and table to eat around. There is a tap on the lower balcony for potentially washing out wet suits after a surf (and you can access it from the rear of the building via some steps), but it didn't have a drain below the tap so the water just flooded along the floor so we stopped using it. You could have put surf boards on this area and you can access it from the back alley way, but you can not get in through the back door leading to the lounge, it didn't seem to have a key and if it did, it was sealed up in a corroded Masterlock. Although Ocean View can accommodate 8 people, who would naturally have to arrive in more than one car, it only has one parking space. So additional cars will have to park 400m down the road and incur additional car parking charges. The other parking space you see in the picture is for the adjacent property which interlinks in a strange structural way with Ocean View. The lounge is ok and the TV just adequate but you would struggle to get 8 people seated in that room if you were a large party hiring this place. WiFi seemed to work well. In summary we enjoyed our stay here and it one of the few places near central Newquay with 4 bedrooms and at a reasonable hire rate. We hired it because 7 of us were on this holiday this time. It is not one of the better appointed apartments we have stayed at in our many Newquay visits, but it is a decent option if you want somewhere that is in a good location, for a reasonable fee, for a large party (7 or 8 people).
