With clear water, stunning scenery and half a mile of white sand, Porthmeor’s Blue Flag beach is one of west Cornwall’s most popular sandy stretches, so this property which is just a short walk from the beach, creates a terrific base from which to enjoy all that St Ives and the surrounding coastline has to offer.

Tastefully furnished with ample space for relaxation, you’ll have all you need to enjoy a truly comfortable stay. Two spacious bedrooms and a family bathroom are found on the first floor while the large master bedroom with its own en-suite can be found on the top floor. Downstairs, the home’s living room is cosy and welcoming with a bay window letting in plenty of sunshine, while the big kitchen which lies open plan with the dining area, is amply equipped for whipping up home-made meals. A sliding door leads outside to a furnished terrace which can be pulled back to extend the inside space out, so on warm days you can enjoy breakfast or drinks outside in the fresh sea air.

One of the best things about this property’s position is that although it’s within a short distance of the heart of St Ives, it’s also set in a quieter area a little further away from the bustle. The harbour is just a short 13-minute walk from the front door (or a 6-minute drive if you don’t fancy the walk back up), and the town’s best restaurants, galleries, shops and attractions are also at your fingertips.

Not only is Porthmeor Beach the perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing and family fun, it’s also one of west Cornwall’s premier surfing beaches, enjoying consistent waves all year round. It’s ideal for bodyboarding too so if you’d like to take to the water during your stay, there’s a beach-based surf school with qualified instructors offering lessons as well as board and wetsuit hire available.

A top tip is that one of the area’s favourite places to eat out is Porthmeor Beach Café. Resting right on the sand, and is the best place to watch the sun set over the water from its sea-facing terrace, while enjoying some delicious seafood or a crisp glass of wine of course!

We ask our guests for a £150 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterward if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this. 
Alternatively, a one-off, nonrefundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £30 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas.

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (If your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Travel cot and highchair: Available within the property, please do add to your booking if required.
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a Wi-Fi dongle.

Outside
At the front of the house there’s a lovely suntrap patio with seating while at the back of the property, accessed via the dining room, is a furnished terrace. This tucks round to the side of the drive.
The front garden is secure for dogs however they should still be supervised
Parking
Parking for one car on the drive at the back of the property with an EV charger. Guests can pay using the FUUSE app. Charging instructions are on the wall of the house next to the charger.
Please note that the access is down a narrow lane and is quite tight. Although visitors have managed to drive and park an SUV here, some guests may find it a pinch.
There are gates to close this area off if guests prefer to use the space as a garden, however please note that when a car is parked on the drive, the gates can’t be closed as they fold inwards
Parking is available in Barnoon long stay car park which is 0.2 miles away (roughly 6 minutes’ walk)

Everything was as advertised on the website. Spacious and comfortable . We dont have a dog but you would never know dogs might have stayed there as everywhere smelt fresh and clean . The charge point was an added bonus for us and having a Kia sportage was not a problem with parking as long as you were careful .

Lovely family stay

We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The house was spotlessly clean throughout even the oven, air fryer, pots, pans and baking trays looked brand new. It was also one of the best-equipped holiday homes weve stayed in, with everything you could possibly need for cooking for a family. The property is very spacious. There were four adults, one child and a dog staying, and we never felt on top of each other. The living room had plenty of seating and space for everyone, and the large hallway was really useful for storing a pram and all the extra bits that come with family holidays. The dedicated parking space was a real bonus, and the location was great for exploring the area. The walk down to the harbour and beach is quite steep, but we didnt mind the exercise and it certainly wouldnt put us off staying again. The only reason weve marked comfort slightly lower is that we found the beds a little firmer than our personal preference. That said, this is very subjective and certainly wouldnt deter us from booking again, as everything else about the property was excellent. Overall, a wonderful stay and a property we would highly recommend.

Having thoroughly enjoyed our stay last year, we repeat visited at the same property. It simply feels like home! The home is spacious, warm and comfortable with everything you may need for your stay. Its 10mins walk into town, Tate and beach (albeit back up the hill on the return :) Excellent comms with the team.

We really enjoyed our stay, only a few minor issues like no communication at all from the host but luckily we didnt need anything, oven was faulty on one side and some garden furniture was broken but we assumed that was from the storm that they had just had so wasnt a problem. Sofas could do with an upgrade as very loud when you sit on them. House and cleaning was immaculate, and had everything we needed, we would definitely stay here again. Parking also wasnt an issue for us. Loved the addition of the stair gate for the dogs!

We have stayed in this street before but this house was much nicer. Really comfortable and well equipped and beautifully decorated. Very close to the town and beaches (down a hill so takes longer to come home!) Parking space is round the back of the house and is very tight but its all narrow streets round St Ives! Nice to have a few essentials to welcome us and two key safes (front and back) which make it very convenient with the family. A lovely stay. Thank you!

This is a lovely decorated and well presented house that is well appointed and we really loved our stay. We had a slight problem with the hot water not initially working, but a call to the agent soon resolved it. I managed to park my VW T5 in the back yard area, which was a bit tight, but given the parking issue in St Ives this was a blessing. You have to reverse up the rear small lane to get the vehicle out and it does mean the rear gates are left open, but there would have been space to use the outdoor seating so no major issue. The house has everything you need and is a 10 minute walk to town and Porthmeor Beach. It is uphill on the way back, so be advised. We would definitely stay again.

Loved the house. It felt like it had only just been renovated. Everything seemed brand new. Comfy beds with high quality linen and towels. Warm. Welcome gifts of milk, orange juice and biscuits. Up the hill from sea / centre of St Ives but only a 5 / 10 min walk.

We really enjoyed staying at 7 Wheal Ayr; the house is lovely, well-furnished and well-equipped. Everything we needed was there. It's quite a steep walk up the hill from the beaches and town, but nothing too strenuous and doesn't take long. Having the parking space was a boon. Luxury Coastal's local representative was very helpful and responsive for any questions we had during our stay. We would look forward to staying in the same house again another time.
