Painstakingly restored and exquisitely designed, this beautiful home is a ‘must’ for special celebrations and luxury getaways with family and friends.

Bespoke furnishings and a superb collection of antiques complement the elegant Regency proportions of the building to create a home that is as welcoming as it is good-looking. On the ground floor, a wide entrance hall with a marble floor and sweeping staircase leads guests through to the elegant reception rooms. High ceilings, tall sash windows and ornate fireplaces sit alongside textured wall finishes, curated artwork and a mix of period and contemporary furniture. The main sitting room faces south, overlooking the terrace, with plush seating and an elegant layout that makes it equally suited to relaxing or hosting.

The kitchen is a dream, with painted cabinetry, stone flooring and plenty of workspace. A beautiful breakfast area is the perfect place to start the day, while the separate formal dining room within the sitting room provides a tasteful space for sharing suppers and conversation. Upstairs, four sumptuous bedrooms flaunt individual styling, texture and hand-chosen furniture, and the house has three bathrooms as well as a show-stopping ground floor cloakroom.

Outside, a gorgeous garden with tall palms and exotic plants evokes the romance of the Mediterranean. The south-facing sun-drenched terrace invites outdoor entertaining and relaxation, with a lower gravel tier and stream adding to the space on offer.

Set in the heart of Truro and a short walk from the Royal Cornwall Museum, some of the city’s best dining spots are on the doorstep. Unwind with a coffee and pastry at nearby Bread & Butter, enjoy a Persian-inspired dinner at Sip, or indulge in elevated pub dining and cocktails at The Wig & Pen. Truro Farmer’s Market is held every Wednesday and Saturday, a 3-minute drive on Lemon Quay. This is the place to buy local produce or to sample street food from local businesses. Victoria Gardens is a 5-minute walk which is great for a morning jog, or a picnic with the family, while slightly further afield is the National Trust-owned Trelissick Garden, where wandering the rooms of its stately home, as well as lovely views over the Fal estuary can be enjoyed.

Inspired by the practicality of a Hammam wet room, the marble tiled entrance lobby suits wetter times of the year. Here, you’ll find a heated cabinet for wet coats and another for dry, which means you can safely de-robe before entering the main hall

Living Room
The main living room is positioned on the ground floor and is shared with the dining room. A bespoke modular corner sofa in sage velvet overlooks the *fireplace, with a mirror panel above to conceal the Smart TV (with Freeview). A metal ‘tassel’ table and two upholstered swan gondola armchairs are positioned at the window, with lovely views over the garden

Kitchen & Dining
Kitchen and Breakfast Area
The kitchen is light-filled and gorgeous with a full range of appliances, including an electric range cooker with gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and dishwasher. A mural work by Duncan Grant forms a striking backdrop above the sink, while on the opposite side of the room, the breakfast area with its vintage limestone dining table and bespoke banquette seating, rests beneath a vintage Murano chandelier

A separate utility room is located on the ground floor, with a washer/dryer, sink, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board

Dining Room
The dining room provides a more formal entertaining space and features an Epstein Art Deco dining suite with eight elegant chairs. A decorative 1930’s six-panel lacquer screen from the Dorchester Hotel adds glamour, and a silk unfolding daybed acts as window seat

The spacious master bedroom has access to a private en suite and features a grand king-size bed, a large armoire, two chests of drawers, a dressing table, and a cleverly concealed Smart TV (with Freeview) behind an oil painting

The second bedroom has two generous small double beds as twins, as well as two wardrobes with drawers, bedside tables, a dressing table and stool, a trunk and a green vintage iron safe

The third bedroom features a marvellous giant clam shell canopy (rescued from the Harrods display department in the 1970’s) and a king-size bed, as well as pedestal tables, a dressing table, wardrobe and mirror

The fourth bedroom or ‘Campaign Room’ echoes Victorian safari trips to Africa and features a dark, earthy red palette with a faux bamboo dressing table and a bergère stool, as well as a matching wardrobe. A double bed tucks away under the striped Bedouin tent-inspired linens from Tangier
