Overview

Set in Paignton, the house is less than five minutes by car from Preston Sands and Paignton seafront, so it’s the ideal location for days on the beach as well as exploring everything Torbay has to offer. Paignton Zoo, Cockington, Torre Abbey and the coastal towns of Torquay and Brixham are all within easy reach.

The house has been tastefully furnished throughout, with plenty of space for everyone to spend time together, as well as room to escape for a bit of peace and quiet. There’s a big sitting room with comfy Oswald & Pablo patchwork Chesterfield sofas, a large Sky Glass TV and doors leading out to the garden with direct access to the hot tub, plus a generous dining area and a games space with an arcade machine – likely to be a hit with children and teenagers. The four bedrooms are each have their own Smart TV, so everyone can retreat to their room and watch whatever they fancy at the end of the day.

Outside, the garden is arranged over several levels, with plenty of space to sit out and enjoy the views across the valley. The lower garden is a lovely spot to relax, while a few steps up is the hot tub which sits under cover so you can indulge in a soak whatever the weather. Further up, the multi-level decked garden has outdoor dining, sun loungers, a summer house and wooden armchairs – perfect for drinks and making the most of the evening.

There's plenty to do nearby, too. Spend a day at Paignton Zoo, wander around Cockington Country Park, visit Torre Abbey, or head along the coast to Brixham, Torquay and the beaches of the English Riviera. With so much within easy reach, you can make your holiday as busy or as relaxed as you like.

This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterward if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this. 
    ​Alternatively, a one-off, non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £30 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
    Pets: pets are not allowed.
    Number of exterior steps: 18 steps to the front of the property, 14 steps along the side of the property to the hot tub area, a further 18 steps from the hot tub area to the rear garden with another 10 and 6 steps to the various levels within the rear garden.
    Number of interior steps: 14 steps to the first floor, and 13 steps to the second floor

    Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (If your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)

    Wi-Fi: This property provides free Wi-Fi for our guests. There may be occasional variations in speed and performance due to factors outside of our control. If you're planning to work during your stay, we suggest bringing a Wi-Fi dongle as a backup

    Rhodanthe House is situated up a fairly steep hill, however the road the property is located on is flat. From the driveway, there are 18 external steps up to the front door, as well as two external flights of stairs alongside the house giving guests access to the various garden areas
    Once inside, the house is arranged over three floors, with two flights of internal stairs connecting the floors


    Living area
    Positioned on the first floor, this spacious room is furnished with two Oswald & Pablo patchwork Chesterfield sofas, a coffee table and side tables, with an electric fireplace. There's a large Skyglass TV, and doors lead outside towards the hot tub area

    Snug
    Alongside the living room, this area has an arcade machine, a table and two Chesterfield armchairs

    Children's playroom
    Accessed from Bedroom Four on the second floor, the children's playroom has toys and a chaise-style chair
  • Kitchen & Dining
    Kitchen
    The kitchen is on the ground floor, with a door leading outside to the side of the house. It has two electric double ovens and induction hob, American fridge freezer*, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A kettle, toaster, an Alexa, iron, clothes airer and ironing board are also provided, along with a Nespresso pod coffee machine**.

    *Please note that the water dispenser is not mains connected and will not be prefilled upon arrival for hygiene reasons
    **While some pods are provided, guests are asked to please bring their own

    On the ground floor, the dining area has a table with seating for six and access to the front outside area (two occasional chairs are provided for extra seating)

    This first-floor bedroom is furnished with a super king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, dressing table with stool, a mirror and an A-frame clothes rail. A swivel chair in the bay window with a footstool creates a lovely place for morning coffees

    On the second floor, this room is furnished with a super king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, a standalone wardrobe and mirror, plus an occasional chair. This room has access to the top garden

    Situated on the first floor just outside Bedrooms Two and Three, the family bathroom has a bath with shower over, hand basin, WC, heated towel rail, cabinet and LED touch-sensor demisting and mood lighting mirror, with a hand-held shower attachment.

    On the second floor and en-suite to Bedroom Four, this shower room has a shower with hand-held attachment, hand basin, WC, heated towel rail, cabinet and LED touch-sensor demisting and mood lighting mirror with a shaver point located to the right of the mirror. The shower has spa features including jets, lighting, steam functions, and bluetooth capabilities.

    The house has a private, tiered garden with several different areas to sit and enjoy the views over the valley. The lower level has faux grass with various seating options and a table, while steps lead up the side of the house to the covered, private hot tub area with an electric hot tub and seating Another flight of external stairs alongside the house leads to a multi-level decking space with sun loungers, two dining sets, occasional outdoor chairs, and a summer house
  • Parking
    There is parking for three cars, with the garage offering space for 2 cars as well as space directly in front of the garage available for guests. Additional cars can park on the neighbouring streets only, no further parking authorised on Rhodanthe Road.
