Tucked into Barnoon Hill, an area of St Ives well-known for its most famous resident Barbara Hepworth, Tathra Beach Cottage lies quite literally on the doorstep of the artist’s studio and Sculpture Garden. Grade II listed and gorgeous, the house flaunts a tastefully refurbished interior with chic furnishings and modern features – all designed to create a truly comfortable space for your stay in St Ives. Three beautiful bedrooms make up the homes two upper floors, with a large living room and spacious modern kitchen to be found on the ground and lower ground.
Wonderfully positioned in the heart of St Ives and within easy reach of all that the town has to offer, you’re just a hundred yards from bustling Fore Street, its shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries, and just a minute’s walk from the harbour and beach.

Good Housekeeping Bond or Accidental Damage Waiver
We ask our guests for a £150 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterward if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.
Alternatively, a one-off, nonrefundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £30 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the bedroom areas
Number of steps: Main entrance is accessed via three steps up to the front door. An authentic St Ives cottage with tons of character means the cottage’s staircases are fairly steep and may not be suitable for some.
Type of heating: Central Heating
Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay, however, if you require use of the travel cot you will need to bring your own cot linen. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (if your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a wifi dongle.
Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.
Additional Extras: There is a cot and a high chair available upon request, as these are not stored at the property, please add them to your booking if required.

There is no allocated parking for this property however guests may drive to front door to offload before heading up Barnoon Hill to Barnoon long stay car park

There’s something special about holidays in St Ives and we just can’t quite put our fingers on it. It could be the beautiful light that’s attracted artists to the resort for generations, the cobbled streets and coastal views…or that feeling of being a world away from the hustle and bustle. Whatever it is, St Ives has a charm that’s unlike any other, and we’d recommend it at any time of year.

Found the overall state of repair poor for the money paid. Living room walls dirty, bedroom paint peeling from ceiling and bathroom not fully clean (shower). I have pictures of all the areas I have mentioned .

Maintenance and cleaning needed

Overall the house is nicely decorated but the cleanliness and maintenance needs addressing. Large cobwebs on ceiling in lounge, cooker hob hood and door all had not been cleaned. I dropped something behind the lounge cupboard and when I tried to retrieve it it was filthy on the floor with dust and tissues!! There are safety gates for dogs/children but the lounge one was hanging off the wall. Bedrooms are comfortable but sofa in lounge is not! There is a damp problem as its very musty particulary in the lower ground floor kitchen. Outside the window cill at front of house was completely rotten! Best part is the location being right near the main Fore Street but sadly next to a pub/brewery with noisy barrel deliveries at 6am!!!!

Location was excellent stairs were steep especially for a 2 year old, it was great there were stair gates on each floor. The house had a lot of character. We enjoyed our stay
