Overview

This beautifully designed four-bedroom modernist house in the Holsworthy countryside near Bude has striking interiors filled with bold colour, vintage furniture and beautiful textiles, alongside three acres of woodland, and terraces opening onto the surrounding landscape.

Designed as an extension of the landscape, the house is full of light, with huge windows framing the views and bringing the changing seasons right into the rooms. Warm timber, lime-washed walls and natural materials provide a calm backdrop for a confident use of colour, with moss greens, coral, rust and earthy reds appearing in the furniture, textiles and artwork. The result is relaxed, individual and completely at ease with its rural surroundings.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room is made for long, lazy days together. Cook breakfast while the morning light comes in, settle down with a book in an armchair, or gather round the table for supper and conversation. Large glass doors open onto the terraces, so on warm days the house flows naturally outside, and nature becomes part of the living space.

There are four beautifully styled bedrooms, each with its own character and a lovely mix of colour, texture and vintage pieces. The terraces provide places to sit throughout the day, from morning coffees with birdsong as the playlist, to lunch in the sunshine and drinks as the evening light fades. Deer and pheasants wander through the surrounding countryside, and the house feels beautifully removed from busy, everyday life – with everything you need to make the most of time with family or friends.

When you do venture out, Bude and its beaches are just over 10 minutes away. Summerleaze is the place to head for a dip in the iconic Bude Sea Pool and a walk along the beach. Follow the South West Coast Path for dramatic views and fresh sea air or explore the coastline to discover the captivating beauty of Boscastle, Trebarwith Strand or the dramatic cliffs at Northcott Mouth. Spend the day at Widemouth Bay, where there is surfing, rockpooling and a long sandy beach that is perfect for a walk with the dog.

*This home will have an outside shower and sauna installed for Easter 2027
