Situated on a farm in the beautiful village of Georgeham near Braunton in North Devon, Rafters Lodge offers luxurious accommodation in a wonderful countryside setting.
Step inside and you’ll discover a stylish interior with stunning décor highlighted by floor to ceiling glass panels that showcase the rolling fields beyond.
A large master bedroom with its king size bed provides a sumptuous retreat from the outside world and the en-suite bathroom which is beautifully designed has a walk-in shower and a huge bath – perfect for a long, relaxing soak.
At the centre of the home is a lovely, well-equipped open-plan kitchen – ideal for home cooking; and with so much excellent local produce available in the area you’ll be eager to whip up a few Devonshire inspired creations.
To the front of the lodge there's a decked patio where you’ll discover a bubbling, private hot tub tucked away under the eaves - the best place from which to soak up the tranquil atmosphere and completely unwind, whatever the weather.
Rafters welcomes pets and has an enclosed garden to the rear so your four-legged friends get their own space, and the wonderful dog-friendly beaches of Saunton and Woolacombe are just a short drive away.

Good Housekeeping Bond or Accidental Damage Waiver
We ask our guests for a £50 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterward if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this. 
Alternatively, a one-off, nonrefundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £15 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, a fixed fee of £25 per dog for a short stay of 2-4 night stays and £40 per dog for a 7+ night stay is chargeable, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the bedroom areas.

This was our second stay at rafters, we absolutely love it here. The location is private and secure with calming views of the rural location. The property itself is well equipped and comfortable. We enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub after a day of exploring the stunning north Devon coastal area. The local pub and ship are convenient and draft are always helpful and friendly.

Along with directions, the information pack was given by the owners prior to arrival which was useful. Upon arrival the lodge was spotlessly clean. The location was perfect, so quiet and peaceful. We were not overlooked by anyone - really escape. The lodge itself was well equipped and the hot tub was exactly what was needed after a day walking the stunning costal paths. Couple of pubs within walking distance, Croyde 5 mins drive away. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I've been coming to Rafters for the last 4 years - 1-2 times. It is a wonderful place with all the amenities you could possibly need for a short stay. I bring my dog Dolly and she loves the treats that are always left for her. The owners have been very kind, on multiple occasions taking supermarket deliveries for me and even offering to put the lid on the hot tub when I hurt my shoulder - I travel alone with my dog so these things are really helpful and important to me. There have been some upgrades like the new shed for the outside furniture covers - this is great. The main thing that you should be aware of is the internet is super poor and to me, seems to be getting worse. You can't watch a movie all in one go for example, it will keep stopping to load (I don't recall this happening a couple of years ago), there's no way you could have a video call if you needed to pick up a bit of work whilst on holidays. It's worth noting that opposite the properties is a campsite, it can get noisy especially at peak holiday times. It does also mean you can get takeaways from vans that go to that site such as the coffee van in the morning and fish and chips I think on Mondays! All in all though, a great stay and I will be back with Dolly again soon

We had such a wonderful stay at Rafters Lodge and only wish we had booked for longer. We travelled with our two dogs, one is very anxious, so finding somewhere peaceful and secure is really important to us. This place was absolutely perfect. The location is incredibly quiet (just the sound of sheep!!) and the enclosed garden meant the dogs could relax safely, which made a huge difference for us. One of the highlights was being able to walk straight from the lodge through beautiful countryside to the nearby beaches. It made our days of exploring so easy and enjoyable. After long walks along the coast and through the fields, coming back to the lodge and soaking in the hot tub was exactly what we needed. There are also some fantastic local pubs within easy reach and the lodge is just a short drive from other lovely Devon towns. Overall it was the perfect mix of peaceful countryside, great walking, and cosy comfort. We left feeling completely relaxed and would absolutely love to come back again next time for a longer stay!

Really comfortable lodge, we stayed over New Year, It was so peaceful and quiet even though all lodges was full, just could sometimes hear voices in hot tubs but very private. We would definitely stay again.

The accommodation is very clean and modern with a fenced rear grass area for pets which is perfect. It also has a hot tub. The accommodation is high quality and private. The location means it is possible to walk to the local amenities and to the beach but having a car is useful to get around.

Thank you for such a lovely stay at Rafters. We visited with our 2 dogs and had a very nice and relaxing stay. The lodge was very spacious and well designed, immaculately clean, and very warm and cosy too! We really appreciated the enclosed garden for our dogs which they enjoyed running around in! The hot tub was also a lovely fature and was very warm and welcome after a day out walking. The village of Georgeham is very welcoming - we visited the local shop and the 2 pubs who served excellent food and are just a short walk away. Would definitely recommend a stay at Rafters!

This was perfect for a relaxing break. Location was great, could hear the waves from Croyde beach at night. Cosy and warm. Peaceful and relaxing. Bed a little soft for me but that's my preference. Kitchen had all that was needed. Bathroom was lovely.

We loved the lodge, it was very well presented and laid out. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spotless, with lovely fixtures. The hot tub was awesome and we spent each evening relaxing in it! Everything as usual was fine and Nick met us during our week long stay, very helpful. The only point of criticism that I can think of is that the cleaning was not up to the standard of our previous visit ie few cobwebs and one or two dirty plates in the cupboards from previous guests. The other problem we encountered was that the tv constantly buffered and made viewing difficult, otherwise a fabulous lodge and location.

Loved the stay here as did our dog! Nice touch of Prosecco and milk in the fridge on arrival. Hot tub and garden a key selling point for this place. Cleanliness was perfect. The bathroom overall is beautiful. Bed super comfy, no noise and pitch black at night-bliss for sleep. The accommodation is perfectly warm and very cosy at night. Great location, two lovely pubs in Georgeham (Kings Arms the favourite). Walkable to Croyde also. Thanks so much!

Everything we were hoping for. A complete get away from the rat race. Two fantastic pubs which serve great food 10 minutes walk away. And the best bit is sitting in the hot tub under the stars even in January. We loved our time there.

We couldn't have gone anywhere better in the UK for our honeymoon than March End Lodges. The lodge really is stunning, we could see ourselves living there if we had the cash! Beautiful location, boozers down the road were really friendly, cosy country side pubs. The beaches and surrounding areas were beautiful and made us depressed coming back to Birmingham! Would definitely come here again.

I stayed with my dog, we've been here about 5 times now. The location in relation to beaches and restaurants is great - all the surrounding areas are super dog freidnly. The accommodation is perfect as the garden area is fully enclosed and private. Highly expect we will be back next year!

This was our second stay at Rafters. It's an excellent property with a great enclosed garden area. Important when you have a dog. It's in a great location with easy and quick access to several nearby beaches. There are two local pubs a short walk from the property, both serve great food and the dog was thoroughly spoilt. An excellent property (one of three) on a farm in a quiet village. Very private and an excellent hot tub. The property was spotlessly clean, recently built and had everything you needed. Enclosed garden was very dog friendly. It lacked a view from the decking and hot tub at the back of the property. Booking was easy and the online information pack was excellent. Cannot fault this property. Highly recommended.

Amazing stay with our doggo

This was such an amazing home away from home stay for my husband and I with our doggo. It was perfect for everything we needed and the value for money was superb! From the minute we arrived I was impressed with the lodge and how clean and well presented it was. Genuinely cannot think of any faults! The garden for our dog to run around on was perfect. The shelter for the decking was great because it did rain whilst we were there! The hot tub was lovely and the temperature was perfect. The treats and towel for the dog was a great addition as well as the Prosecco in the fridge! The kitchen had everything you would need for your stay even down to the salt and pepper. The milk being there on arrival was handy as it was enough to last us the trip for the coffees. The bed was big and comfortable. Lots of wardrobe and drawer space for belongings. The bathroom was lovely and big! Shower was fab and great after a cold walk. The heating was really good too. We tried the Kings arms for dinner which was lovely food. Top end pub food thats for sure. Staff all really lovely too. It was super close and convenient to the lodge. I would maybe suggest putting some lights up leading up to the lodge as it was dark walking back from the pub. We didnt need anything whilst we were there so had no contact with the owner but everything was clear before we got there! Lots of space for parking so no problems there. Apart from a few minor suggestions (not criticisms), I cannot fault this lodge. It ticked off everything we wanted out of our stay in Devon and Im so glad we found it. It felt like the design had been so carefully thought of and designed so well! The walk to woolacombe was lovely and other walks were a short drive away. Highly recommend Saunton sands and doing the beach as well as the green space behind the beach! We also loved heddons mouth walk even though that was a bit further out. It was nice to have a change from the beach. Thank you so much for a lovely stay we would definitely book again!

An absolutely amazing long weekend. Everything you need for a relaxed stay is there from the location with 3 beaches within 15 minutes drive and 2 great pubs in the village. The hot tub was idyllic no matter what the weather. Communication through out the booking and arrival was great.

We stayed here recently and thought it was lovey and very homely. Although it was not easy to find initially once you know the area, its easy to get to and from. Everything is just short drive away from the lodges (which are spaced far enough apart from each other). The hot tub was a lovely addition and was lovely and warm after a day of walking and lots of fun on the beach with our little dog.

This is the third time Ive stayed at Rafters. Super convenient for beaches, costal walks and the cabin has plenty of amenities with a large full enclosed garden space. Some parts are showing a bit of wear and not all the crockery was fully clean this time. Be nice if they could provide hot tub towels and a set BBQ area.

This place is perfection! Some places call themselves dog friendly when they actually mean dog tolerant, the March End Lodges are truly dog friendly. These lodges have a private enclosed and safe garden for your dog, they leave you dog treats AND a doggy blanket. The lodge itself is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, fully kitted out with everything you need and exudes a feeling of calm and peacefulness. We were even greeted to prosseco in the fridge and milk for those desperate for a cuppa! Under the sink they give you all the little things youre going to need - dishwasher tabs etc - it just feels like theyve thought of everything. The location is amazing, you can walk into the lively little village to two different pubs and a well stocked shop. You can also walk to Putsborough beach (about 40 mins) and then across the beach to Woolacombe. The hot tub was a gorgeous way to spend our evenings. We didnt need to worry about our dog as he was safe in the garden. There was a really small issue with the hot tub one night and Nick was there in minutes to fix it! Customer service is here is second to none. We will be coming back - no doubt about it!

Long weekend getaway

We were looking for somewhere quiet but also not too far from the beach and towns, so we could have a few days break just us and the dog - Rafters was the perfect choice. Clean, well laid out, finished to a very high quality and plenty of space to move around. Hot tub was great, some little treats for the dog were left and the owners were very accommodating with our needs. Highly recommend a trip to this place!

A lovely, calm getaway with the dog

We stayed in Rafters for our minimoon break. We weren't sure how it would be being in the middle lodge, but it was absolutely fine and we weren't disturbed by anyone in the lodges either side; there's plenty of greenery between each lodge to provide privacy. And we were never disturbed by the owners maintaining the hottub which was nice. Very discreet. The fenced garden was perfect for our dog to enjoy whist we were in the hottub. We could leave him to roam and didn't have to worry about him getting out. The lodge itself was spotless, huge bathroom, comfy bed. Wifi was slow and we struggled to watch catch-up TV because of it, but perhaps that's due to being in a remote area? We wouldn't have normally noticed as we'd have been out and about enjoying the beaches but unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side which is the only reason we watched TV. Not really major, as I'm sure people don't come here to sit and watch TV the whole time! Definitely recommend a visit to The Kings Arms for dinner just a short walk away. Staff were lovely and the food was amazing - something different. We also took a little walk to the campsite next door for some breakfast rolls one morning. It was nice to have so many options for places to visit nearby (driving distance) - Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe. We had a lovely walk from Lee Bay to Bull Point Lighthouse stopping at Sandy Cove on the way. Just the right amount to see and do for our 4 night stay. The lodge was perfect for what we wanted and we'd recommend to friends and family looking for a slow, laid-back getaway with the dog.

We spent 3 nights at Rafters to celebrate my husbands birthday at the end of June and we couldnt fault anything about our stay. The lodge was spotlessly clean, spacious, welcoming, comfortable and provided everything we needed. Our two cocker spaniels loved playing in the garden whilst we relaxed in the hot tub. We didnt want to leave and will definitely be back!

I had arranged for a floral delivery before our arrival and the owners were excellent in facilitating it all, which set the tone for the weekend. The Lodge was spectacular! Cleanliness was immaculate and the bathroom is incredible. Information provided prior to the stay is easy and straightforward, and the facilities were as described on the website. What I really appreciated was the inclusion of kitchen items and utensils, small things like milk, condiments, washing up liquid etc, little things you may forget to bring on a weekend but would be useful. When you see these things infront of you, it really makes you appreciate how thoughtful the owners are. All in all a perfect weekend I would highly recommend to anyone! Thanks a lot!
