Situated on a farm in the beautiful village of Georgeham near Braunton in North Devon, March End lodges offer luxurious accommodation in a wonderful countryside setting.
A beautifully laid out interior is complimented by floor to ceiling windows that invite the pretty countryside views in giving the space a wonderfully calming atmosphere.
The master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed providing a relaxing retreat, with a spacious modern en-suite bathroom featuring a large bath and walk-in shower.
Central to the living space is a well-equipped open-plan kitchen ideal for whipping up a fabulous meal in; and with so much excellent local produce available in the area you may be tempted to create a few locally inspired dishes.
Outside you’ll discover a decked patio where a bubbling hot tub awaits. Positioned under the eaves it makes for the perfect place to laze the hours away whilst taking in the beauty of the landscape beyond.

We ask our guests for a £50 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. Alternatively, a one-off, nonrefundable Accidental Damage Waiver of £15 can be added to your booking to replace the Good Housekeeping Bond and can be added as an extra when processing your booking.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, a fixed fee of £25 per dog for a short stay of 2-4 night stays and £40 per dog for a 7+ night stay is chargeable, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the bedroom areas.

Lovely place to stay

We stayed at Thistledown, one of March End Farm's 3 lodges in Georgeham for 4 nights in August 2026. This was our second visit. The lodge is lovely and very well equipped. The bed is very comfortable and with a lovely view out to the garden and the fields beyond. The bathroom is big and has a big free standing bath, a large shower and his and hers sinks. The garden is completely secure and safe for dogs. There is a decking outside with a settee and coffee table and also a hot tub. There are two pubs within walking distance and both are dog friendly. More pubs can be found in Croyde a short car ride away. We had family staying at Saunton Sands which is a great beach for dogs and children. There is also a Beachside Grill there serving food and drinks all day and in the evening. We would definitely recommend March End Lodges for a very comfortable stay.

We had a great stay at March End Lodges! We brought our Weimaraner for his first holiday and it was perfect for him! The enclosed garden had plenty of space and was clean and safe which was great! The lodge itself had everything you could need for all types of cooking. We didnt actually do any cooking and instead visited the local pubs in Georgeham and takeaways in Braunton. The local pubs were incredible and dog friendly too! In the daytime we did plenty of walking around the dog friendly beaches and sand dunes - all within a short car journey. Wed come again in a heartbeat - perhaps in a cooler month as it was too hot to fully explore the local area!

Beautifully peaceful in a great location

Thistledown offered superb privacy in a quiet location offering two friendly pubs within walking distance. We visited in mid May and benefited from slightly fewer tourists on the roads and at the beach. Putsborough beach can easily be reached by walking if you are moderately fit. The WiFi is variable so dont rely on it being available but it was nice to be able to disconnect from the world. I would happily re-book.

A great place to stop, relax and unwind. So quite and peaceful. Should there be a shower the hot tub is undercover as is the access to it. Lovely beaches close by with Ilfracombe and Barnstable less than 30 minutes away

Thistledown lodge was extremely clean, peaceful and beautiful. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and felt completely private and not over looked. The hot tub was perfect to relax in of an evening and look out over the fields. Would highly recommend as a place to relax and de-stress. The information supplied before visit was extremely helpful and allowed us to plan exactly what we wanted to do. Will 100% be recommending to others and look forward to booking again.

Wonderful 2nd stay The best customer service ever from Luxury Coastal , from start to finish . Lodge super clean and so warm and comfy. Everything you need plus lovely extras , milk, wine and dog treats . Secure private garden , superb hot tub , not overlooked. Peaceful, yet easy walk to 2 pubs and refurnished village shop with the essentials . Super walk to local beach approx 30 mins through country lanes, bit steep in places , beach cafe and shop. Car parking, if you don't mind driving the narrow roads . Fabulous Saunton Sands 15 min drive away . Extremely good value for money . 100% rating. We will be booking again

Quiet and comfortable lodge

If you want a good quality and comfortable place to stay that is full of peace and quiet then March End Lodges are just the thing. The kitchen is reasonably stacked with all the things you need for a self catering stay. The bathroom is huge and luxurious. The bedroom houses a king size bed, which sadly means its a squeeze to get around it if sleeping on the far side and that furniture is at a minimum. Theres not much room for storage. The lounge is ok for enjoying a couple of hours of tv of an evening. However the tv does get a lot of reflection from the enormous windows and as there is no curtain on the side of tv (only blinds) so it does hamper tv viewing. The outside area is fully enclosed so your dog can run free and the decking area, hot tub and outdoor seating were all fabulous. The lodge does get incredibly hot, it is west facing and the sun beams through the glass windows and I believe it also very well insulated as I could not get the temperature below 19 degrees. But the best thing I found about this lovely place was the water! I cannot believe I am writing about such a basic commodity, but the water comes from the farm itself and goes through their own filtration system. This water is so clear, soft and a pure delight to drink. Personally I think its the nicest water Ive ever drunk and if they could bottle it, Id buy it in truck loads! I would recommend a stay at these lodges and the area is a great central base for exploring beautiful North West Devon.

Very Well Equipped Lodge in a Lovely Area

Very well equipped Lodge in a lovely area with a wonderful hot tub. The only downside (if you are bringing a dog/dogs), is that there is a campsite in the field directly behind the Lodge and whilst this is a family campsite and no trouble at all, our dogs could hear the sounds coming from the campsite, but because they couldn't work our where the sounds were coming from, they were on alert and couldn't settle for the first few days, so relaxing in the garden and hot tub was not always possible. As the week went on this became much better and we got to relax more in the garden and hot tub, after a day out at the beach/exploring. This was just a small issue and everything else was wonderful and we would definitely recommend this accommodation.

An absolute gem of a find! Peaceful location and lodge has everything equipped for your needs! The garden is great for the dog to run around and the hot tub is excellent to relax in. Location is great with two pubs within walking distance and if you wish to expand the walk we walked to Woolacombe and back along the beach! Perfect little break and will definitely be back.

This was our second time staying here and it didnt disappoint, we had the most relaxing stay. The location is just beautiful we loved looking out and seeing the baby lambs and bunny rabbits in the morning. Very clean, presented beautifully and love the little touches with the bottle of Prosecco and milk in the fridge. Will definitely be staying again, great customer service from owners. We love it here, the most relaxing stay to switch off and relax from a busy life style.

We had a very good time the property was in excellent condition and the bed was so comfortable also where it is positioned is very quiet to be honest cant really fault it the bathroom was probably the best we have seen for a long time only problem was the internet seems to come and go a bit but wasnt a problem also its easy to get anywhere else the local pub as excellent food we had a Sunday roast which was really nice so overall we was very pleased thanks to everyone who helped with the booking

This is our second time staying and it was just as amazing as we remember it being 2 years ago. A perfect get away with out Labrador and so relaxing for us too. The hot tub is incredible with the views, location theres some lovely local pubs and if you google theres some beautiful beach walks. We came in January so it was abit cold but the under floor heating is a dream. All in all just amazing and we cant wait to come back BUT book in advance they fill up quickly!

Great Christmas Break

We had a lovely relaxing break between Christmas and New Year. Lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Been to a few Lodges with hot tubs and had a welcome pack on arrival including milk, bread, eggs, marmalade, and orange juice . Only had milk and a bottle of prossco which was nice thank you. Only other criticism I'd say was the 2 seater settee was too small. A recliner or slightly bigger settee would of been more comfortable at night whilst snuggling down on the evening watching the TV. Overall great stay ,great location , great views and pubs and beaches and on your doorstep. Would definitely return again.

Dog friendly holiday cottage

A lovely, comfortable and very well equipped holiday home with the added bonus of a hot tub and lovely countryside views. The huge bed was extremely comfortable. A fully enclosed garden makes it very safe for dogs. There are two dog friendly pubs within walking distance and Croyde with more facilities and amenities is a 5 minute car ride away. All in all, a really pleasant stay.

Relaxing and Luxury

We have recently returned from our 3rd time at March End Lodges (Thistledown)- that should be testament to how much we enjoy and rate these lodges. From the Bath Sheets and robes to the kitchen utensils - everything is high spec. Then you have the lodge itself which is beautiful with the enclosed large garden and hot tub. Everything has been thought of - there is so much you can do on days out with the beaches etc but to be honest we go to get away from it all and mostly stay in with the calming views. (Husband will pop down the local village pubs for a pint or two - lol) Excellent for your favourite family members too. We return every year as we rehomed a dog just over 3 years and she is reactive (not aggressive) with other dogs - such a loving girl but can be highly strung so going on days out is quite stressful. We can guarantee her exercise, sniffer training/playing in the garden without taking her out and know she will be exhausted at the end of the day and be safe in the enclosed garden. Our girl loves it here just as much as we do. Thank you again for a lovely stay in your beautiful lodge. We are quite sure we will be returning again next year.

Lovely setting, very peaceful and quiet and very responsive hosts. Lodge is lovely, good space, big bathroom. Also, although the lodges are dog friendly we didn't notice any dog smell which is always a good sign. Phone connection is not great but wifi is good, so we ended up doing mostly whatsapp calls where required. It does get hot inside the lodges when the sun shines, there is a very small fan provided but if coming in summer we would suggest bringing your own as you'll need a powerful one if you get a nice sunny day. An iron is provided. We would suggest bringing shower gel, aluminium foil, cooking oil and bin bags. Overall would stay again.

We could not fault our stay at Thistledown Lodge, March End. A lovely quiet location, immaculately clean and well equipped, with a thoughtful welcome bottle of Prosecco and treats for the dog! The bed was super comfy and we enjoyed using the hot tub and outside space. Which was secure for our dog so she could enjoy the garden too! We also enjoyed the fact we could walk to two excellent local pubs for food and enjoyed a great walk to Putsborough on one of our days. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Didnt start well as the post code did not match the true location as the address was a mix of March Lodges and Braunton. So we were not in the best frame of mind. The lodge is great and as described in every way. Put it even nearer the coast and youve got 6 stars! As for Luxury Coadtal as an an agent it gave wrong address and tells you its a 4pm check after you have paid deposit. Not great. If you can book it direct then bypass these people.

North Devon get away

The Thistledown lodge is a lovely place to have a quiet break away from hustle and bustle. It is clean and comfortable and had a secluded hot tub on the decking at the back. You can walk to the village of Georgeham where there are two pubs if you want to eat out, although there are no pavements so you need to watch out for cars. You can also walk to Putsborough beach in about 40 minutes. It was a nice touch that we were given Prosecco and fresh milk on arrival. However there was no shower gel or shampoo or dishwasher tablets/liquid and I hadnt packed any! Treats were provided for our dog which was also lovely. The cost was a bit steep for 3 nights but we had a nice time. Thank you

We are sorry to hear you were not provided with dishwasher tablets, the owners have advised they are located in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Many of our properties do not now provided shampoo and shower gel in an effort to cut down on wastage so we would suggest bringing your own in the future. The Lodge was lovely, modern, warm (we went in February) and clean. It was great to get in the hot tub! The garden area was perfect for our 2 dogs. The location was great, short drive to Woolacombe and the two local pubs served great food and catered for me who is coeliac. We had a small issue with the shower, but this was being resolved on the Monday. Definitely stay again, perfect for 2 people and their dogs

Had a fantastic time at thistledown from the moment we arrived til we left. The lodge was clean and had everything you needed for your stay we enjoyed the hot tub and our dog loved the freedom of the fenced garden . The location was fantastic too as we used the two local pubs less than a ten minute walk to both and also walked to puttsborough beach wich was only a 45 minute walk . We had a fantastic time and definitely will return some day Thanks

Loved every minute of our stay in this lodge. The location is ideal to get to Putsborough, Croyde, Staunton and Woolacombe amongst others. The lodge was lovely and the enclosed garden did our dog was perfect. The hot tub was well maintained and the bed is the best I have ever slept in. All was perfect and we will definitely be back. Lovely Lodge close to beaches

We stayed early August 2023. The lodges are beautiful throughout from the lodge itself to the high end furnishings. The lodge contains everything you need for your getaway and are very clean throughout with a comfortable king bed, bath and shower. The kitchen is modern with an area for eating and sofa for relaxing in front of tv. The garden is large and secure for a pooch and has wonderful views overlooking fields while you relax in the hot tub provided. There are two pubs in walking distance. The Rock Inn was our fav serving great traditional pub food with lots of options. The beaches near by are beautiful. Great holiday!

A little Devon hideaway perfect for couples and pups

We managed to bag this lovely cabin for the May half-term. The weather was stunning which helped a lot but the cabin really was a joy to be in. The bed was so comfy, the cabin had everything you needed and they even supplied milk and prosecco! We travelled with 2 miniature dachshunds who loved the garden and we loved not having to worry they would escape as it was totally secure! They even had their own welcome pack with towels, water bowls and a jar of treats. The whole cabin was surrounded by wild grasses and flowers, so pretty! The hot tub was a lovely addition as well as the egg sofa. We didn't hear anyone come in to service the tub at all. Although we had neighbours, we were not disturbed at all. Brilliant base to travel around the beaches and sights of North and South Devon (Newton Abbott is about an hour away). I will say that getting to the cabin was 'interesting' if you are not used to small Devonshire roads or you have a big car... its a bit tight and twisty. Broughton had fab takeaways and restaurants - Highly recommend Fish and Chips from Squires, Thai from The Siam Bistro (portions are per person so if you want a feast order double) and amazing firewood pizzas from Meraki Pizza Co. All have online ordering and sit-in if you want a night out. All in all, it was a wonderful week and has set the bar even higher for our next pup holiday!

We absolutely loved staying here! Had everything you needed. The dog loved the garden. Beaches and other things to do close by. The recommendation list sent us was so helpful! Hot tub was perfect! Loved watching the lambs running around in the field from the lodge/hot tub. We will definitely be back!

Lovely, clean and well presented lodge. Little attentions to detail give the feel of a 4/5* hotel suite. Great location on a quiet farm with picturesque views over the fields watching spring lambs jump around. Two excellent pubs within short walking distance and well located for Woolacombe and Croyde. Happy to recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break experience.

Myself, my partner and my dog had a great stay here! It was lovely and clean when we arrived, in a great location and is very quiet perfect for what we wanted it for. It is a great retreat to relax and chill out, great for pets as the garden is fenced off too! Modern lodges with great large beds which as so comfy, the hot tub is a great addition too. We walked the the beach which took us around 2 hours however we did get lost! and there are great pubs in the town as well, The Georges Arms has the best lamb I have ever tasted. Will be returning

The lodge is exactly as the pictures are advertised on the website. Cant fault any of it and would highly recommendwe will definitely be back!! Even down to the smallest details, spare dog bowls and blanket just incase youve forgotten yours. Also a jar of treats for the dog and lovely bottle of Prosecco also chilled in the fridge for us. Towels and dressing gowns also provide, overall home from home. Garden was big and well enclosed for the dog so she also had a nice time without us having to worry. The whole place was very clean and the hot tub was spotless!! Pub within a five minute walk and very welcoming, would recommend booked a table for food in advance. Lovely nature trails if you enjoy your walks. Plenty things to do within a short driving distance. We will definitely be back!!

Real gem, we loved our 4 day break here. Beautiful lodge, immaculate and well equipped and we particularly loved the hot tub. The dogs enjoyed the garden and the walks on Woolacombe and Saunton Sands beaches. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.
