Overview

Peaceful, private and surrounded by countryside, this spacious shepherd’s hut is all you could ask for from a tranquil and nature-infused retreat in Devon.

Willow settles on a private farm just outside Exeter. Beautifully designed and furnished, it also comes thoroughly equipped so you’ll have everything you need to enjoy complete relaxation during your stay. Inside the hut you’ll discover a separate bedroom nook with a comfy king size bed and views down to the river, as well as a a curved overhead roof light so you can watch the stars before drifting off to sleep. The living / dining area has a bench sofa with cushions, and a cleverly concealed dining table that can be packed away after use. You’ll also find a perfectly formed kitchenette with hob and cooker, a range of appliances and glasses, utensils and crockery. During the warmer months you'll be able to open the double doors and enjoy indoor / outdoor living, while a fabulous log burner and underfloor heating keeps things warm and toasty inside when it's chilly. Outside, there’s a private hot tub to sink into and a cold water plunge bath for cooling off. A fabulous outdoor kitchen with sink, pizza oven and barbecue sit under-cover, as does the seating area, which means you can enjoy outdoor cooking and socialising even if it's raining.

Devon Heaven Hideaways lies on a farm within the picturesque Kenn Valley. One of a small collection of boutique glamping properties, Willow too has its own secluded plot with access down to the river. Perfectly placed for exploring, the wild beauty of Dartmoor and its tors lies within a few minutes drive, as does the beach at Dawlish Warren. Exeter and its Medieval cathedral are also within striking distance, so you’ll be able to shop, eat out and explore to your heart’s content. Just 5 minutes on foot or a couple of minutes by car, The Ley Arms is a stunning 12th Century thatched pub with a cosy atmosphere and an excellent reputation. The food here is warming, fresh and created from locally sourced ingredients so it’s well worth a visit during your stay. On sunny days you’ll be able to sit outside and enjoy the leafy outlook and village atmosphere, while in colder weather, the inside is kept warm by a large log fire.

Less than a mile away in Kennford, the local grocery store and post office sells freshly baked goodies and a range of necessities. It's also home to its own pub, The Seven Stars which is a great place to sample a few West Country beers as well as delicious pub grub including pies and takeaway pizzas. They also have a pool table, darts and sports TV.

We ask our guests for a £50 Good Housekeeping Bond, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. Willow is a spacious shepherds hut with underfloor heating and a log burner. The hut has a separate bedroom nook, an en-suite shower room and a kitchen with lounge / dining area.
The main living area opens up to the front patio through double doors that fold out

Kitchen & Dining
Beautifully designed, well-equipped kitchen with ceramic sink, 2 plate induction hob, microwave, under-counter fridge (with freezer box), kettle, toaster, crockery, mugs, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils. Please note there is no oven
Tea towels are provided as well as washing up liquid & basic cleaning materials
The dining area features a bench with upholstered seating and a table which folds away into one of the under-counter kitchen units
Bedrooms
This hut has a separate bedroom nook with skylight and privacy curtain. Furnished with a king size bed which has a deep mattress and cotton linen, and a small wall mounted flat screen smart TV
There are lovely views down to the river
Bathrooms
The contemporary en-suite features a walk-in shower with a rain head and separate hand-held attachment, hot and cold water, a wash basin, flushing toilet, and heated towel rail
Outside
This shepherds hut overlooks the river and features a private patio with gravel and paving
Here you'll find a terrific hot tub as well as a cold water plunge bath, outside shower, bistro table and chairs. The custom-built outdoor kitchen is covered and features a sink, pizza oven and charcoal BBQ / firepit, upholstered benches and a cable drum table

Please note that charcoal and logs for the BBQ aren’t provided however logs can be purchased on site for £10 per bag

Willow has its own entrance to the private car park where there is space for one car per hut

We loved our stay at the willow , lovely village and the pub near by was great .close drive to the sea side . If I had any cons it would be it could do with a small washing line and new garden furniture. But we will definitely be back to this amazing place.

What a wonderful little gem of a place for our honeymoon, we had a fabulous time , the accommodation was immaculate and cozy , even had fresh bread and cakes on arrival ! The tv provided had Netflix and other formats to give plenty of choice when chilling . Wonderful hottub we used in the evenings as the fairy lights and hottub was lite up made it so romantic ,not forgetting the pizza oven A must is to visit the Lay Arms pub a few minutes walk away outstanding food . We are definitely going again next year

It was quite hard to find to start with but the owner came to the rescue and everything was okay after that. Me and my partner had the most perfect stay, Willow is amazing, comfortable, clean and just perfect for a getaway if you dont want to explore and just chill. We stayed in the whole time we were there and made the most of our money, hot tub was great and the outdoor kitchen area was so nice to relax in aswell.
