What makes this pod completely unique is its staggering, uninterrupted view of Wells Cathedral. The ideal balance between countryside escapism and city break, Chapterhouse offers couples a truly idyllic place to unwind away from a busy schedule while being just a stroll from Wells city and all it has to offer. Designed with perfect proportions that feel more boutique retreat than rustic, the pod’s interior feels contemporary, spacious and airy, with creature comforts galore. There’s a dining area, living room, kitchen and bedroom all laid out as open plan and a separate bathroom which includes a large walk-in shower complete with rain head. French doors open the entire space outside to a timber deck where you’ll be able to unwind in complete solitude, barbecuing in the sunshine or indulgently soaking in the wood-fired hot tub which has been tucked away to the side of the lodge.

Guests with their four-legged companions in tow will be pleased to know Chapterhouse welcomes pets, so for peace of mind, the fence surrounding the property completely encloses the space. There are also many lovely walks in the area for both humans and canines to explore including a public bridle way that lies directly behind the field. Of course, Wells is a mere stroll away, so you’ll be able to enjoy a coffee or luncheon at The Bishop’s Table within minutes of leaving your front door.

The city of Wells is by no means sprawling (in fact it's the smallest in England), however what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in sheer enchantment with its cobbled streets and market village atmosphere. It also happens to boast one of the most marvellous Medieval cathedrals in the land, and it's one that has been attracting at first pilgrims then visitors by their droves since the 13th Century. Huddled in the heart of rural Somerset at the foot of the Mendhips, Wells is a merge of two attractive worlds, one of Gothic architecture, narrow streets, pavement cafes and independent shops, and the other of countryside quiet and nature-infused pursuits.

Security Deposit: We ask our guests for a £50 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 1 pet allowed, £25 per pet per week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture

Linen & Towels: Bed linen is provided for your stay. Each guest will be supplied with one hand towel and one bath towel for their stay. (If your holiday is longer than 10 days, please contact the Luxury Coastal team to discuss a mid-stay linen change)
Wi-Fi: This property offers free Wi-Fi for guests, however, we cannot guarantee the speed and connectivity. Therefore, if you are planning to work during your holiday, we recommend bringing a Wi-Fi dongle.
Hot Tub: A supply of wood will be provided to heat the hot tub, which will usually be enough for your stay based on typical use. Should you require more wood, it can be purchased on-site as required
Smoking: All of our properties are non-smoking and we ask that any party member who smokes, do so off the premises.
Additional Extras: Various wines, flowers and hampers can be purchased for your arrival. These can be added at the time of booking or on the guest portal.

We arrived on Friday 11th October with our labrador for a 3 night stay to celebrate my birthday. On arrival the wood burning hot tub had very thoughtfully been pre-lit by our friendly host Michael. The view from the pod of surrounding fields with an outstanding view of Wells Cathedral was fabulous. The pod was enclosed by a wooden picket fence which meant our dog was safely confined, however the surrounding fields provided plenty of space for walks and running free. We all had a very enjoyable stay. Thanks go to our host Michael.

Fantastic weekend

My husband and I stayed in a pod for the weekend at chapter house as an anniversary gift from our daughters and it didnt disappoint. The pod was easy to access with a key box just outside the door, the code is text to you a few days before your stay so you dont have to fuss meeting people for the keys. It was clean and comfortable and had little finishing touches which made it feel homely. It was surprisingly very warm inside even without the heating on. The hot tub was a bonus was so easy to use and was secluded. Im not a camper at all but glamping id happily do again, the pod included a good sized bathroom with toilet sink and shower, a microwave and hob, a kettle and toaster and a bbq in the lovely fenced off garden space complete with table and chairs. It was so peaceful and just a short walk to wells town. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay at chapter house was brilliant, with a view of the cathedral. Upon arrival everything was clean and essentials was provided for us which was great. The bed was sooo comfy with a nice shower and the hot tub was lush. Chapter house is located a 5 min walk into wells. Was just a perfect stay just after Christmas, thank you for having us and we would deffo come back.

Booked for a week getaway with my partner and dog, absolutely fab. Great place, perfect walks into Wells and around for the dog. Lovely host. Soon to be 3 pods next to each other, but the spacing between each maintains a good amount of privacy. The hampers were great and gave us some lovely surprises on arrival too. A perfect weekend getaway for my partner and I. Ideal for our small sausage dog. The cabin was amazing - clean, modern, comfy! An incredibly relaxing stay

The Cathedral View eco pod was a lovely place to stay. The location was superb, it felt very private with a great view - but was also less than 10 minutes easy walk to the amenities in Wells. The wood fired hot tub was actually very easy to use, and it was great to have such a plentiful supply of wood. The pod itself was cosy, comfortable and well-kitted out, better than many much larger holiday cottages. When the sun was out we relaxed on the deck, and when it rained we could relax inside and listen to the rain. A great getaway.

Chapter House Cathedral View was really lovely absolutely beautiful setting view of Wells Cathedral fenced in so safe for dogs, very private got everything you need for a relaxing stay and lovely hot tub. Small bottle of milk in the fridge on arrival and 2 small bottles of prosecco lovely little touch.
